The universal flood and the Ark of Noah cause problems for you because you deny the Word of God and choose not to exercise faith in God.
Why does 2+2=4? Who knows. It just does. How did God assemble all the animals and feed them? Well, God knows, but then again, He's God. There are a number of possible explanations, but listing them would be pure speculation. The simple fact is that you have chosen to not believe in the written account of history.

how about the other written accounts of history that seem to leave Jesus out of where you say he should be?
If it's just a simple fact of ignoring a written account of history, Christians are just as guilty, if not moreso.
I'm just going to go with an ad hominem and an accusation for this...
ImaSaved1, you're plumbing the depths of stupidity again I see.
Tell me when you hit the bottom, I'm kind of curious how deep that well goes.
If you're not really that stupid,(which I suspect) stop lying to the kiddies.
I know why 2+2=4!
You start with the empty set, which is denoted as 0. Then you have a successor function S(a)={a, {a}}. 1 is then defined as S(0), 2 as S(1) = S(S(0)), and so on. This defines the entire set of natural numbers.
You then define the + function for natural numbers by these two definitions:
m + 0 = m
m + S(n) = S(m) + n
This can be proven to be correct by induction.
Then 2+2 = S(S(0))+S(S(0)) = S(S(S(0)))+S(0) = S(S(S(S(0))))+0 = S(S(S(S(0)))) = 4.
So it's rather simple to figure out that 2+2=4.
"There are a number of possible explanations, but listing them would be pure speculation."
Much the way you speculate about how Noah built the ark so quickly, how he gathered the animals from places like Australia and the Arctic Circle, how the ark stayed afloat, where the water came from, where the water went, how animals from Australia and the Arctic Circle returned there, and how plant matter survived the flood to name but a few. You know, you could just admit that YE creationism is nothing but specualtion and I wouldn't think any less of you. Nah, that's a lie, of course I would, but what do you expect from an atheist with no moral grounding?
The universal flood and the Ark of Noah cause problems for you because you deny the Word of God ...
I wouldn't deny the word of God if I had it. But I deny that the Bible is the word of God. It's the word of a bunch of bronze age Arab goat herders who wrote some books and claimed they were the word of God.
Why does 2+2=4?
2 + 2 = 4 by definition of the words 2, 4, + and =. Like all mathematical statements, it's a tautology - like saying "hypertension = high blood pressure". Of course, then again,
Let a = b
then:
a(2+2) = b(2+2)
a(2+2)-5a = b(2+2)-5b
rearranging:
a(2+2)-b(2+2) = 5a-5b
factoring:
(a-b)(2+2) = 5(a-b)
dividing out (a-b):
2+2 = 5[(a-b)/(a-b)] = 5
QED ;-)
How does your computer work?, how are you able to live more than 40 years?, how do antibiotics work?........God and the scientists who worked on it know, and you don't. Guess who's the one who has understanding problems.
2+2=4 because we have declared that those are the symbols we have given for those amounts.
There is no proof for a flood, it is impossible.
I would go on about what a stupid twat you were, but since it's on T4C its a given.
"Let a = b
then:
a(2+2) = b(2+2)
a(2+2)-5a = b(2+2)-5b
rearranging:
a(2+2)-b(2+2) = 5a-5b
factoring:
(a-b)(2+2) = 5(a-b)
dividing out (a-b):
2+2 = 5[(a-b)/(a-b)] = 5
QED"
Of course, no fundie would ever catch the division of 0 by 0. Then, too, they tend to get confused by substituting letters for numbers. (And apparently even numbers confuse them and cause them to say "Who knows")
Yes, ImaSaved1 is Bro Randy himself.
@[b]John:
dividing out (a-b)
Hey, you just also proved where the big bang came from. Oh noes!11!!1eleven!!1!42!! [/fundie]
but listing them would be pure speculation
Mr Occam! Customer for you!
So, Randy, your advice is to just believe what one is told regardless of whether it is illogical or obviously incorrect? Yeah, I didn't really expect more from you.
ImaRetard1.
Problem solved.
I do believein the universal flood - I do, I do, I do!
And it was universal all over the bible belt. It's still there. It's a tsunami of ignorance and willful turning away from truth and reality to believe in myth!
Hell, it wouldn't be tolerated in any other civilised country where people are expected to know the difference between parables and true life by the time they are 10 years old.
Uh, what written account of history lists the Great Flood? Only place I 've ever seen it is The Bible and the ancient Babylonian and Sumerian myths that they stole it from, in other words, religious propaganda for various religions.
How could Bozo say that g0d assembled and fed the animals? This so-called "written account of history", which can only be true if the Harry Potter books are also true, says that g0d told Noah to do all that crap.
The simple fact is that someone did not read his Babble correctly and is totally MSU.
because the number 2 is actually the cardinality of a set with two elements, namely { {}, {{}} } and the act of addition is actually set union.
what happens when you union two sets with cardinality 2? why you get a set with cardinality 4!
{ { {}, {{}} }, { {}, {{}} } }
"Two (2)" and "four (4)" are language arbitraries. Let's break it down.. If I have a stick and a stick and you have a stick and a stick and we put them together, we then share a stick, a stick, a stick and a stick. Because we use language to determine that "a stick" = 1 and "a stick and a stick" = 2.. and "a stick and a stick + a stick and a stick" = 4, has absolutely NOTHING to do with religion, nonreligion, Noah, gods, or anything related.
I'm feeling particularly generous today and decided to waste my time explaining logic to a fundie.
Then why did God bother with an Ark, and not just float Noah, his menagerie, and the animals above the flood waters? Why didn't he just smite all the bad people and be done with it? Hmmmm?
quite the opposite really. I choose to believe written accounts of history which clearly contradict many fables in the bible, specifically the flood. Then again, biology, physics, chemistry, and good 'ol common sense do a fine job of disproving the flood as well.
The Flood and the Ark cause me no problems whatsoever. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that they never happened. You are right about me rejecting the word of god and all that shit, but it has caused me no problem rejecting all the batshit insane stories you idiots continue to present as historical fact.
I choose reality over fairy tales, yes, and it causes me no problem whatsoever.
Actually, I DO believe in the written account of history. There is nothing in there about a world-wide flood less than 6000 years ago.
"Two" is the name that we have given to an item plus another item.
"Four" is the name that we have given to an item and another item and another item and another item.
I have never before met a person too stupid to grasp that.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
