i mean, lets be honest here. How could evolution be true? first of all, when people say that evolution makes so much sense scientifically, it really makes NO sense scientifically!.. If everything made was just by chance, then how come there isn't more mentally retarded people...?

Because mentally retarded people tend not to have a very good chance of reproducing, so they don't pass on the genes for mental retardation to the next generation. That is kind of how evolution WORKS.
Most cases of mental retardation are the result of non-disjunction (Down Syndrome), other chromosomal abnormalities, or environmental factors (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome), the few examples of mental retardation caused by the functioning of an individual gene tend to be rare and caused by a recessive gene which only affects those that have a copy from both parents, who may well be unaware that they carry the gene.
