Darwin's sister gave that account as factual. I did my homework. Whether he did or not, I agree that it is not an argument against evolution; however, it does show that a once disgruntled preacher was afraid to face the God he had tried to demonstrate didn't exist. He knew down deep inside that God does exist. That is what this proves. As to proving evolution, all one needs to do is to realize that the basic hypothesis of the man made theory is based on imagination; not fact. The way to form a genuine theory is NOT to start with fiction and try to prove it; rather, it is to start with fact and figure out the best explanation one can. Evolution at its very heart is fiction that scientists struggle and cheat in order to "prove" it is real. But, there is no "monkey / man" or "dog / cat" because evolution simply did not happen. God created it, just as the Biblical account declares.
