Inventions we would have been better off without?
Trade unions, of course, one of the most evil movements to have inhabited the earth.
Will the world ever forgive us?

Remind me of all the massacres perpetrated by trades unions, again ...
(Ah, the Daily Torygraph. Still longing for the days when the great unwashed didn't get to do things like vote).
Oh no! Not a democatically elected, fair representation of labour, in order to allow the common working man to work in a safe workplace for a reasonable pay and conditions! What ever shall we do?
Personally I don't see anything fundie about this. Some trade unions are self-serving and pretty much evil.
Hitler was elected by a fair vote of the people. This does not make democracy evil.
I do not care if it was a goodwin,. it was required for the point. Noob.
This is idiotic.
It was trade unions that gave some muscle to workers to enable them to achieve fair play in the work place and decent wages.
If it were not for trades unions people would still be working 12 hour days with no paid holidays - in fact, no holidays at all.
But perhaps this is Theo's idea of a workers' paradise, slave labour and the use of a whip on the workers' backs.
Oh, right, 40-hour work weeks, 8 hour days, worker's comp, overtime... brought about by unions... are teh eeevillll....
(/sarcasm)
Yeah, unions such. I mean, who wants to work only 8 hours a day and get healthcare benifits? Pinko Commies!
</sarcasm>
Unions "suck". Suck. not such
You know those rights you have - c'mon, you know: working hours, vacations, not starting when you're seven years old....that sort of thing?
Unions got those for you. People died to get them.
Cunts like you don't deserve them, though.
Bizarre, but not fundie.
I have also heard stories of workers' unions becoming essentially corrupt and in the pocket of big businesses, so thanks to this most compelling of evidence (you know, anecdotal evidence), I'm prepared to believe that the objections may come from genuinely bad experiences with unions as a worker.
But this is just my lingering faith in most of humanity talking.
As corrupt as some unions are, they don't even begin to compare to the evil that religious fanatics have inflicted around the world.
Now STFU and get back to work.
Of course, thanks to them you have paid holidays, welfare, social assistance, health insurance..................
I have to agree. Trade unions will eventually become corrupt and worse than the evil they are designed to combat. They become the monsters they fight. Not fundie. However, I will have to agree it is a bit melodramatic.
Some unions are good. Most are bad. Nature of the beast. Money always brings out the evil in people, but it is a good thing as well.
Trade Unions are not naturally evil: they are the logcial progression of capitalism. Empowered workers combat the monopoly their employers have over their wages. Without trade Unions, and acting alone they cannot do this, and the emplyers can do whatever they please. Institutionalised trade unions are silly. Trade Unionists should never be professional. Interestingly, oroductivity is often increased by the prevelance of trade unions.
Much technological advancement is directly related to,,, c'mon,, you can do it.
For one thing, if the company has to pay and treat people better they're much more likely to accept the increased production of machines and the skills needed for such things which ALMOST NEVER come from money hungry uncaring assholes.
Slavery
Forced labor
No limit work schedules
Overworked masses
Unsafe working environments
Child labor
Yeah those are soooo much worse.
What's his next repeated mantra article
"Business will always do the right thing"
Heard that so much in the Reagan and W years.
WRONG!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
