Does anybody here not see the connection between the total abolishment of Christianity from the Government Controlled Public School system and the atrocious conditions within them? Maybe it is just me, but when 150,000 guns are brought to school, STDS, pregnancies, rape, thievery and drug use are reaching critical levels, while the Witch club practices voodoo and other satanic occult practices, and the secularists sit back and watch as their godless (but oh so scientific, State-worshipping) schools go to Hell, I see something missing in the hearts of men.

When did Xianity ever stop those things? When I think of the medieval period, when the Church was at perhaps its most powerful, I don't think, "Jeez, no one ever got murdered or raped or disemboweled or pregnant or robbed or stricken by an STD back then."
What exactly is this "critical point"?
Anybody want to tell these people that the schools with the lowest GPA's, and lowest number of PhD candidates just happen to be in the Bible Belt? Congrats Mississippi, South Carolina, and Alabama, #'s 1, 2, and 3 (or 48, 49, 50) respectively!
And hey, those godless heathens in Canada score better on international standardized tests, more Ph D candidates, more post-secondary school graduates, lower crime rates, fewer abortions, fewer unwanted pregnancies, higher life expectancies, and universal health care to boot. Maybe they made a deal with the devil in Ottawa.

Shell,
STOP those things? Heck, Christianity was a prominent CAUSE of many of those things through the Crusades, the Inquisition, and witch hunts.
Of course, STDs are not caused by secularism, nor by occultism, nor by Christianity; they are caused by viruses. But Christianity is certainly no cure for them, and Christian-based abstinence-only programs result in a higher rate of spreading of them than programs that involve the use of condoms.
In short, I see something missing in the mind of rebelEnigma, who is making wild leaps of illogic in his/her claims on this whole subject. An introduction to the real world is definitely long overdue.

So I guess segregation, racism, oppression, torture, the inquisitions, the crusades, and so on just don't compare?
hm...
rebel is an idiot. But of course, that's old news. I've seen his posts before.
Where did the 150,000 guns figure come from? That seems pretty exaggerated, even for a fundie. Unless, of course, he is talking about the entire history of public schooling, in which case it is totally irrelevant anyway.
David D.G.,
Exactly. And STD rates are highest in the most christian conservative, southern states, which also have high teenage pregnancy rates.
I'm betting this person is homeschooled or christian schooled and is using, what I call, "pulpit facts".
(Puts hand up) Me! Me! Mr. Enigma, call on me! I don't see the connection.
If Christianity instills such virtue in people, why do most of the violent criminals in our prisons indentify as Christians?
I, too, see something missing in the hearts of most men, but it's not God.
<<I'm betting this person is homeschooled or christian schooled and is using, what I call, "pulpit facts".>>
This homeschooler can plainly see that rebelEnigma is an idiot. But like Seth said, that's old news. This is so mild compared to other things he's said. Stupid is excusable to a certain degree, but blatantly and outrageously hateful is not.

Cool it Lucifer! They're onto us...
Mandy,
That was not a slam on the homeschooled, but a guess this person never attended public HS and, as such, really has no idea what goes on there.
When my oldest daughter was in Middle School a group of Christian kids pulled her into the gym and tried to light her on fire. This was all because she was going through a "black clothing" phase and they accused her of being a witch. Luckily, her clothes didn't catch and she got away.
Now, what was this about Christianity and violence in schools?
In my day everything was better! Men were real men! And real men in my day were twenty foot tall giants who could cut down an entire forest of sicamore trees with their bare hands. Real men ate nails for breakfast and crapped out bullets. In fact our bullets were better back then too; they made the atom bomb look like a paper weight. Back then when a man said he'd shoot you, you took him seriously. Not like today, no, a man says he'll shoot ya today and people'll laugh in his face. I remember back in the good old days when I was off in Bolgerea gunnin' down thousands of Communazgans with nothin' but a six shooter and a flask'a whiskey. I remember the first time I ever drank whiskey, twas a cold and blustery June mornin' in the year of ought'teen dickety six. Oh my but that was a good year indeed; all sorts'a pretty women in those days to go jitterbuggin' with. You see back then we used to jitterbug atop a flagpole, as it was the style of the time, and whoever fell off'n that pole last was the winner and we'd all go out and drink a big ol' round'a whiskey down at the ol' speakeasy den ta celebrate. The service in those places was terrific I tells ya, you just say the word an' the staff would get down on their knees and give ya a lil' bit'a the ol' hootchie koo, if'n ya know what I mean. Yessir I remember my first time at the ol' hootchie koo, I was a bit nervous at first, but the moment I stepped up to platre and lifted my ol' flour stick to hit the ball, everythin' jus' came natural. You see we had to use flour sticks when we played hootchie koo back then because the government'd taken away all our bats to use them against the British in the war. But did little thing like batless hootchie koo bother us? Nosir! Not one bit. Not like today, you young people're always complainin' about every little dang problem life throws yer way. Why in my day we had to walk eight miles, barefoot through the snow just to get to our mail boxes. And that was before fancy things like 'post offices' had been invented, we waited eight years for our mail to arrive and we damn well like it that way!
In conclusion I can no longer remember what I was talking about, and I really want my ulcer medication.
Kelian. That's scary. One, that people could still think that. Two, that people could do that. Let me guess they all had the same looney pastor?
Her clothes didn't catch light? She must be a witch! ;o

I'll bet those kids didn't even put her on a scale first to see if she weighed the same as a duck.
;^D
Seriously, Kelian, that is a horrible thing to have happened, even if she did get away; I hope she's dealing with it all right. My son took lots of abuse in school for his macabre artwork and punk-goth fashion sense, but even more from the school system than from the other students.

Kelian and David D.G., where do your kids go to school? I'm from Connecticut and never heard of such insanity from children. BTW, I am not trying to act superior to you, nor am I trying to boast about my region.

Mad Dog, my son went to school in Denton, Texas -- a veritable buckle on the Bible Belt, but religion was only one factor in this situation. Ever since Columbine, the whole north Texas region has largely gone fascist in public schools, panicking at the first sign of a kid wearing black. Schools have somehow gotten the lesson of Columbine exactly backward, adding official harrassment to the normal abuse suffered by kids who are social misfits.
Some schools even have a dress code that outright forbids wearing certain colors, sometimes on the rationale that they are gang-related, but others (such as "all black") apparently to discourage incipient mass murderers from such life choices through fashion therapy. Yeah, it made no sense to me, either.
FYI, my son now lives in Virginia; he went there to live with my ex, but public school's attitude had so badly affected him that he dropped out of school almost immediately. However, he did at least get his GED, and he's much happier now that he's out of school.

Thank you for your response David D.G. I always find your posts to be well thought out and informed. Now that I know how things are in the Texas and Virginia schools, I wonder what they are like on the west coast, if someone could elaborate on this. I always dreamed of moving to California.
Christianity was not responsible for segregation, racism, oppression, torture, the inquisitions, or the crusades. That was just people being people and putting their "half-believed" spiritual belief as a label or cause to it. Jesus never preached racism, torture, oppression, or violence. So if a true Christian follows the teachings of Jesus, how can you blame Christianity for any of those negative things?
Hey RabidMutt.
Grow a fucking brain!
...preferably elsewhere!
One example of many of Jesus and violence. He said:
Matthew 10:34
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
One example of many on Jesus and oppresion. He condoned slavery and said:
Luke 12:47-48
* And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
* But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
When a Greek woman asked for her daughter to have a demon cast out, he was racist when he said:
Mark 7:27
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
Torture would be the easiest one of the lot. I have left this due to a wealth of choice. Yes, they're mainly rationalised into those being tortured have done wrong, but every torturer does this!
When Jesus said the sword he meant opposition, not literally a sword. The sword he meant is the Word of God. It pierces and destroys evil men.
The parable about the servent being beatin' is meant to demonstrate God's punishment to us, when we don't listen to his word. It was a story they could relate to because it was current in their culture.
As far as "racist", I agree that anyone who is not of pure Israel blood are dogs... we are actually all dogs.. worthless good for nothing human beings, that for some Odd reason, God loves anyways. But us "dogs" were adopted into Israel, if we make Jesus our Lord.

Good grief, Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four can't stretch or twist to extremes like this, and he gets called Mr. Fantastic!

Every day, we say the pledge of allegiance in school. We do it, but we really don't care about it. Everything would be the same if there was no pledge everyday. It is the same for prayer. When prayer was mandatory in school, it was not a big deal for people, and there is no way it caused some kind of major downfall in morality.
The total abolishment of Christianity? Isn't like 75 percent of all Americans Christians?
What is an STDS? I know what a Sexual Transmitted Disease is, but what does the last S stand for?
Good to know that there is nothing missing in the heart of women, then. (Just making with the funnies, sorry...)
Confused?
