We ARE different from animals because they are afraid of us. They work for OUR benifit. They exist for us to enjoy. We do not exist for them to enjoy. Animals were not created in GOD's image. Animals lack an eternal soul. Animals are promoters of the environment, the tools of/for the established/created ecological system.

So what? Mice are afraid of cats, my ducks are afraid of hawks, I'm afraid of many large animals. Humans are animals and fear does not change that. "They work for OUR benifit. They exist for us to enjoy." No, they exist because they fill certain environmental niches. "We do not exist for them to enjoy." Tell that to the orca as it munches your legs. "Animals were not created in GOD's image." As God is imaginary, nothing, animal, vegetable or mineral, was created in the image of God. "Animals lack an eternal soul." Until you prove that any being, human or otherwise, has an eternal soul, you should skip that assertion. "Animals are promoters of the environment," Animals, human or not, are part of the environment. "the tools of/for the established/created ecological system." No, all earthly lifeforms are parts of the earth's ecological systems. Except for you, they are not tools.

I'm sure you think that's a good argument, but it doesn't prove anything. If an animal is scared of someone, all that means is that they see that person as a threat. It doesn't prove the human's superiority. It doesn't prove that humans aren't animals, either. If that were true, then why do humans share all of the same basic features as every other mammal on the face of the planet? They work for OUR benifit. No, they don't. We've managed to domesticate some animals, and that has helped humanity out quite a lot over the course of its history. But that is not the same thing. It's only arrogance that tells you it is. Animals were not created in GOD's image. We weren't, either. There is no such thing as God. There's no such thing as an eternal soul, either.

Yes we are at the top of the food chain, but that won't stop many species of animals from turning us into lunch if we give them half the chance. They may lack a "soul" (whatever the fuck that is), but much more importantly many of them possess sharp teeth, sharps claws, no lack of size, and no fear of us whatsoever.

You want to tell a lion or a great white shark that they are afraid of you? Heh, good luck. There have to be less painful ways to commit suicide. The broad use of the word "animals" renders your point of view meaningless. A newborn puppy and a fully grown tiger may both be animals - but that is where any similarity ends.

PS We are also animals, and we also don't have an eternal soul.
