That's because every time the Church opens their mouth they say something embarrassing, or scientifically inaccurate, or they're apologizing for some scandal they're caught in the middle of. They've found it best to just shut the fuck up and keep quiet.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the congregation--fundies in particular--who can't wait to run their stupid mouth off about something which they're ill equipped to speak on, which is damn near everything.
