Point 1: If there is "no faithfulness to God and country" does that include the Bro himself and his fellow IFBs?
Point 2: Is he saying God sends a whole country to victory or defeat based on some kind of poll? --- GOD: "Let's see: 47% faithful to God and country, 53% faithful only to self; OK, they lose the war". If not, then what the heck is he saying?
Point 3: Why do fundies always think God punishes us for crimes of omission , rather than crimes of commission ? It's always "God made us lose in Viet Nam to punish us for insufficient faith"; never "God made us lose in Viet Nam because we were killing people".

Vietnam and Iraq have almost NOTHING to do with faith or loyalty... Why America lost in Vietnam and why the Iraq war is flushed down the proverbial toilet is that Americans completely underestimated their enemy, in addition to poor planning right from the start.

I agree with the previous poster. It's obvious, as Cervantes stated that God helps the evil ones(he was talking about the moors)when they outnumber the righteous. In this case, it was no so much number but the fact that they understimated the capacity of the Ho Chi Ming guerrilla and the fact that they had defeated French in Bien Die Fu.
