intersex is mostly likely caused by having a family history of gays. God says he will punish people thru many generations of children. I can't think of a better punishment then messing with your genitals.

That's what I love about religion - even if you've lived an entirely blameless life you can still be condemned for something someone you've never met did, hundreds of years before you were even born. Talk about a sense of proportion, never mind justice!
In a fair, sensible, reasonable and just society punishing the children for their parents wrongdoing is ridiculous. It's wrong in everyway.
Cue Biblespeak "God sez!"
This is why religion is dangerous, the illogical accepted over reality
How nice of him, punish the son/daughter and not the father/mother. If he was all powerful, couldn't he have punished them instead of the children?
Also @ 1107828:
Intersex is commonly referred to as hermaphrodite however it's not so simple as having both male and female genitals. Rather it's a range of stuff from Turner Syndrome to hypogonadism, or ambiguous genitals.
That´s why I prefer human justice (at least by western standards) to the divine justice of god according to parts of the bible.
Modern western justice would only punish those who really did wrong, not people whose only "fault" it is, to be related to such a person.

Citation, please?

What kind of person worships a God that punishes the innocent?

You're sick.
Did your parents thump your brains out with that bible? That has to be one of the stupidest things I've read all year, and certainly the stupidest this month.
So according to you, someone who is born with a birth defect can thank god punishing them for their parents' and grandparents' infractions.
Your god is a fucking dick.
" I can't think of a better punishment then messing with your genitals."
Of course not, you fundies with your outlandish sexual fantasies.
But this would match right in with biblegod's history of punishing innocent third parties (infants nonetheless) for "crimes" committed by another.
@Doubting Thomas
Intersex=hermaphrodite.
I actually wasn't familiar with the term "intersex" until recently.
Now that that's out of the way....fuck you biblethumping, you fucking fucknut.
But I thought gay was a choice? Oh, right, you don't care about actual truth, you just use what you think will make your point, no matter how unbelievably wrong you end up being.
Honestly, I shouldn't be stunned by how much fail these people exude anymore, but they keep finding new ways to express their mind-boggling ignorance.
"I can't think of a better punishment then messing with your genitals."
You have no imagination at all, do you, boy?
Where does s/he even get this crap?
Intersex is caused by homosexuality?
According to what scientific studies?
Hell, where can that be found in the Bible?
Well when you consider that Christians think that all of humanity is cursed because of what the supposedly first two humans did, it's easy for them to think that the sins of the father can be punished on future generations.
And these are the people who want the bible to be the basis for our government. I'll take our current legal system, flawed as it is.
Punishing someone for what their great-great grandfather did, that is borderline evil, malevolence. Where's the "higher morality" in that?
Oh, and citation very much needed for your "theory" on intersex. But, as most families probably have some gay people in it, you are right on the correlation part. Not on the causation part, though.
I first thought of intersex as sex between human beings. The only non-"intersex" I could think of was masturbation. But that's also a sin, right? Damned if you do, damned if you don't...
"Lady, if God meant to punish me He'd have burnt off my dick!" - Richard Pryor
Okay, it's not about gays, but it's still fitting.
Actually, the Biblical "Sins of the fathers being visited on the sons" thing, was an observation from nature. Without a germ theory of disease, it still could be observed that promiscuous people were more likely to become ill, and to have ill offspring.
The idea really only becomes pernicious when people start trying to derive moral principles from it.
Punishing other people because of someone else in the past is evidence that your concept of god lacks ethics and is not worth of respect. When young, this was always a problem that made me question mythology, even if I was a believer. It was obviously unjust if an original couple was tricked for all of humanity to suffer when they fell in the trap.
You also have to explain why suffering happens to the innocent. And why, if the divine exists, it allows your kind of evil bigotry. Intersex people did not chose it and are not responsible for their situation, just like you did not chose to be ignorant. But you may have chosen to be a stupid and arrogant bigot.
This reminds me that when honestly studying the phenomena of prayer, it tends to be elitist and pretentious. Someone may visit a dying person at the hospital and pray for them, without effect. Meanwhile, another person in the same room feels neglected. They may also perceive it as a hypocritical show. A third person in the room, like a relative of the other patient, may rightfully think: why would that other person be more worthy? Meanwhile, in another country, someone is being persecuted and is praying. They suffer and die. Where is your god? Why is your cult better than another? Why would the all powerful being that does not appear to listen, especially listen to you?
For you, that false excuse is to promote hatred against other people for inadvertently being different. Asshole. Intersex doesn't even mean gay. You're also pushing frivolous libel against the LGBTQ+ who are not responsible for their condition.
Confused?
