But the concept of a morning after pill just promotes uncontrolled sex and loose morals. That is the biggest issue I have with it. At least in my part of the country, religion is less and less important and peopel dont' care about moral values anymore. Parents would buy birth control pills for their daughters going to college instead of just teaching them abstinence. The mentality girls get therefore is that they can just sleep around, hook up with whoever they want to, after all there is "Plan B"...assuming they forget to take their usual birth control pills.
I personally think that moral values are important in how I live my life, how I would like to raise a family in the future, and in how I vote in November.

Get this through your head: Abstinence. Is. Only. The. First. Line. Of. Defense.
You need to teach them more than that, however, because, eventually, they are going to have sex. If they do not, especially going into their 20's, you should get them some mental help (believe me...I should know...). Hence, having morning after pills and condoms...just in case iron-willed abstinence gives out and you are left without options or knowledge of your options once your mind clears up again.

Yeah, OK. So what's your point?
Get this through your skulls, fundies: TEENAGERS. WILL. HAVE. SEX. You can tell them not to as much as you want, but odds are, it'll happen. And with comprehensive sex education, including education about the pill and other forms of birth control, will prevent thousands of unwanted babies, who'd otherwise either end up aborted, homeless, abused, or otherwise in an unhappy situation.
Anybody who thinks the plan B pill is easy to use should have to take it just once.
At our campus clinic they give you a refill for it - not because you'll need it, but because 90% of the women who "have" to take it throw up at least one of the two doses. Yeah, anyone that's had cause to take the morning after pill and their friends who stayed with them all day will NEVER take it again. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't be offered...
You could also argue seatbelts promote reckless driving, but I maintain that the unwanted pregnancies prevented in the case of rape outweigh the uncontrolled sex that people will usually have anyway, regardless of rationality.
Hey asshole, Plan B, emergency contraception is for typically used for failed birth control, and for rape victims.
You are all heart, too bad there is no brain. And on a personal note, I don't think men have any fucking right to tell a woman what she can or can't do with her own body.
Not that Plan B shouldn't be used as a precaution if you think that you weren't protected BUT
What is it with people thinking that the egg is ready to just pop out once you forget to take the pill? Assuming you haven't forgotten the rest of the month, and it isn't the first month, etc. etc.
And what about birth control used within a marriage? Why is that evil? Maybe the husband (it's fundies, so it would have to be the husband) is finishing up college so he can have a good job. The wife is working to help support him during his schooling. Then one night the condom breaks, they shouldn't be allowed 'Plan B'?
@Crazy: Actually my girlfriend has taken Plan B twice now. And yes it sucked both times. She didn't throw up, but had to fight with her body over that. And I had plenty of fun staying up all night cleaning up the messes she made by falling all over the place and being completely and out of it. So yeah, it sucks, but thankfully it is there for when the condom breaks. She doesn't like it, I don't like it what it does to her, but it's better than not having anything.

Really? I've had to take the morning after pill because the condom my boyfriend and I were using broke. The pharmacist gave me a glare but thankfully he sold it to me anyways. I never had any problems with it.
As for you Tom. Fuck off. Sometimes other birth controls don't work as they should and we need something to get rid of the possible sac of cells that come with it. I know the risks of sex and thankfully I was able to correct it. Would you be happier if I had to pull it out with a hanger or fuck up my body for the rest of my life for something I didn't want. I bet your sick self would want me to suffer. Fuck you.
As usual "sex" is the principle concern of fundies vis a vis morality:
people not able to have health care - meh
people without enough to eat - so what
people without homes - tough
people dying in wars - that's the way of it
people having SEX - OMG the fall of civilisation, we're all going to die horribly, G-d will punish and desert us, etc, etc.
Then explain why the Bible Belt states have much higher rates of teenage pregnancy and STDs among the youth than do the more liberal states.
Abstinence. Does. Not. Work. Get that into your thick skull.
Yeah, God forbid that girls should get the same rights to sexual pleasure - free from the fear of unwanted pregnancy - that men have been enjoying for centuries. No, far better to make them hate themselves and their bodies with religion and abstinence programs, then expect them to turn into wanton love goddesses when they're married. Far less damaging, that. [/snark]
And I'll bet you only care about the "loose morals" of teh wimmins? Not enough sexually ignorant virgins to go around your circle of dirty old men, right? Now that they're sexually aware and educated, they realise what a bunch of shit religion has been dealing women for years, and are leaving your flaccid, useless asses by the wayside to die, as it should have been years before. Men like you will die out without your structure of female ignorance and your undeserved power over them. Good fucking riddance, too.
Fundies scream and howl about "unnatural" homosexuality but if anything is unnatural it's abstinence.
And I'm sure this guy has thought about rape victims. A lot, with clammy palms searching for his flaccid self, trying in vain to tug it into action. He just can't get it up anymore now, knowing that his fantasy rape victim can just take a pill to get rid of his infected seed. And don't get him started on condoms.
I hope 70 is his age and not the year he was born. With any luck he'll be gone soon. Unless medical science finds a way to prolong his life of course. I bet he won't complain about that.
People Are Still Having Sex - LaTour
Have you noticed, that people are still having sex?
All the denouncement, had absolutely no effect.
Parents and counselors, constantly scorn them.
But people are still having sex and nothing seems to stop them.
Do you realize that people are still having sex?
They've been told not to, perhaps they are perplexed.
When you see them holding hands, they're making future plans to engage in the activity.
Do you understand me?
People are still having sex.
Lust keeps on lurking.
Nothing makes them stop.
This aids things not working.
People are still having sex.
It's been going on for quite awhile.
Perhaps it's quite fashionable.
It hasn't gone out of style.
So if contraceptives had been available to you when you were young, you'd have turned into a complete slut? Or are you just assuming that everyone who is not you is that weak?
It never ceases to amaze me how many fucktards want things banned that other people enjoy. It's never their own weaknesses they want banned.
Parents would buy birth control pills for their daughters going to college instead of just teaching them abstinence.
Yes, because the pill is all about sex. *Eyeroll* My mom got me on them when I was 16. Not for sex - that didn't happen until two years later. It was because my cycle was screwed up and I'd miss every other month, have irregular periods, etc. They're good for more than just sex - they also help get/keep your system straight!
Being on the pill didn't make me run out and immediately screw anything that moved. And you're a moron for thinking so. The only way I'd think you were any dumber for that opinion would be if you were a woman yourself.
My uterus is none of your business, and I'll decide what gets into it and how long it stays there.
Also, I echo everyone on here regarding Plan B stopping pregnancies resulting from rape.
Ah, we have a strong contender for the "women must be punished for every orgasm" award this month.
The worst part is "every orgasm" includes not only theirs, but those of men, too.
Not every lady gets BC pills just because they want to sleep around. I got it because my periods are heavy and painful and I fucking hate them. I've been on BC since I was about twelve.
I've also still got my V-card at the age of twenty.
'Parents would buy birth control pills for their daughters going to college instead of just teaching them abstinence.'
'Abstinence-only' is a massive FAILURE, LOSER! You need to teach a lot more than that. As usual, you fundies have your heads up your tiny assholes. Just pretend that the less everyone knows about sex the better, since sex is 'sinful' according to the fundy doctrine. It's obvious Tom Lennox 70 has the mentality of a rock, like most fundy Christians.
But the concept of a morning after pill just promotes uncontrolled sex and loose morals
That's like saying fire insurance encourages fires. Teaching abstinence doesn't work, we have lots of data on this.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
