Yeah right , how sorry do I feel for Christian midwives who may end up in position where they are forced to commit murderous abortions, because hey you leave your belief at the door. This is not how it works and really it is abuse of the person, putting them in position where they cannot practice their profession with a clear conscience - so unbelievably Evil. It is better for her to leave the job then be forced to go against her beliefs.

You're right - that is not how mid-wifery works. They are there to help deliver a baby. They aren't doctors and would never be tasked to perform an abortion. So luckily, your strawman arguement will never come to pass. Your imaginary conscience is clear.

You know, there's this ignorant twunt of a county clerk in KY. Please inform her of this.
"It is better for her to leave the job then be forced to go against her beliefs."
that exactly the point. if she can't do the job she was elected for, the she need to step down and quit. she can't eat the cake and have it still.

So we are in agreement. That's exactly the point we've been making since Kim Davis first started her "look at me, I'm being persecuted" campaign.
It is better for her to leave the job then be forced to go against her beliefs.
I agree. If your beliefs prevent you doing your job, you should resign.
The Bible has no problem with abortions. Life begins with a breath, after all, only after that is it murder.
In Sweden, you can't get a job in which you might be doing abortions, unless you are prepared to do abortions.
Having a particular job is not a civil right, having rights to your own body is.
Why is it these idiots don't know the difference between a midwife and an abortion provider? That's like saying, "I feel sorry for brain surgeons who will be forced to perform hemorrhoid surgery." Of course, that's probably accurate in the case of fundie Christians.
"It is better for her to leave the job then be forced to go against her beliefs." OK, that sounds eminently reasonable. Gee, who else do we know that might benefit spiritually from voluntarily leaving her well-paid and taxpayer-funded job rather than sitting tight and refusing to do the job?.....
hey you leave your belief at the door.
The government has no religious beliefs. It doesn't inherit the beliefs of its employees, nor may its employees force their beliefs onto the actions of the government while performing their official duties.

...and replaced by someone with a more objective outlook.
But then, McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell et al are always looking for more monkeys to pay peanuts, eh El?
To borrow from & paraphrase one of the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition: 'Faith and the sack is worth the sack . '
Whilst their philosophy is the 'Great Material Continuum', even they know that pride =/= profit .
And 'Convictions' don't pay the bills and put food on the table, neither.
Kim Davis took at oath to uphold the constitution. I doubt the oath had an escape clause about her duties conflicting with her beliefs.
Also, her beliefs are fucking stupid. We should be talking more about that.
So glad you made the distinction between " murderous abortions" and regular ones.
You probably have no idea how tightly regulated midwives are. It's a shame there aren't more women trained to deliver babies. Might come in handy during those times like now, when I'm surrounded by power outages.
Different fields, dumbass. They'd just as soon expect a midwife to perform open heart surgery. But you're right about one thing (bask in it now because it's probably never going to happen again): if you can't set your personal religious beliefs aside while dealing with the public then you should leave your job.
Nobody is suggesting Midwives, a somewhat supported calling, commit abortions. Totally opposite of Midwifery really, yeah right.
Midwifery is a support system for pregnant women and a very important and often voluntary service provided to women who are surrounded with nothing but male relatives who don't get the bird and bees let alone birthing and followup procedures.
In parts of Europe, they're a trained and respected addition to the medical system, in the lower American states they're the last shot at a babies survival and too often mostly called Gramma.
Confused?
