First off; Over 90% of abortions involve a teeny thingy too miniscule to hold a sign, let alone look human.
Second; It would be really horrid to abort a well-developed, fully viable and very healthy fetus, like the one in the cartoon (I confess that I do see a viable, healthy, 3rd-Trimester fetus as basically a baby and aborting it akin to murder to a degree). It would also do a big number on the mom's body. Late-term abortions are only in emergence situations where the fetus could kill the mom or is so defective that it couldn't really survive as a person (like stillborn fetus-corpses or anecephiliacs....horrifying forms with no brain or skull, are basically brain-dead and resemble weird frog-people).
Third; The Zygote/Embryo/Fetus has no consciousness. The little guy in the cartoon-lady's tummy would care less, ether way.
Fourth; If guys like Branco were gung-ho for funding Planned Parenthood, promoting contraception, comprehensive Sex-Ed, Safer-Sex practices, reforming and streamlining the Adoption Industry & Foster Care System and strengthening the Social Safety Net....Abortion wouldn't be an issue!
But Branco-Billy-The-Butthead don't really care about babies....they just want to punish people for having healthy robust sex lives because taking away all fun, comfort and life is the M.O. of the Frummie Authoritarian Bully.
The only Anti-Choicers I have a BIT of respect for are the "Consistent Life Ethic" folks who genuinely believe in preserving life in all forms, helping the poor, ending Capital Punishment, promote peace and discourage warfare, etc. I may disagree with their take on Abortion but at least I know their hearts are in the right place and aren't simply Frums wanting to mess with other's sex lives for funsies.
