The corollary; if you send your children to public school you are abusing them. Make the sacrifices necessary to save your child, or not, it's your choice Your choice, no one else's.

Hyperbolic, but you should definitely keep an eye on what your child learns in the public school. There have certainly been many instances of left-wing indoctrination masked as education.

The results are clearly visible. Large numbers of millennials have a cultural pessimism and think their own country is some kind of bastion of tyranny or that is it uniquely racist. I think this is WAY worse than creationist indoctrination, which only affects you if you want to do biology related fields. If you're a lawyer or accountant, it doesn't really matter what your opinion is about evolution.

They don't value the free market, they don't value western culture. They're not molded into patriots, they're not even taught to think critically really, they're just taught anti-American attitudes. It's one thing to be critical of what your government is doing (no country is perfect) and completely another to be all "fuck America, fuck straight white Christians, we're the scum of the Earth and it's all our fault the world is so fucked up".

There is a similar problem in colleges. Professor Noam Chomsky is a perfect example of this anti-American propaganda and leftist subversion. It's not even his field, he's a linguist, not a historian or political scientist, but yet he's regarded as an authority on everything and he poisons people's minds with nonsense like "America is more terrorist than Al-Qaeda" to paraphrase or that the USA is the greatest threat to world peace or that the US and the Soviet Union were essentially morally equivalent. Yet he's regarded as this great intellectual who's right about everything. He's a joke. I don't know how good of a linguist he is, but on everything else he's a joke.

You fail to see the difference between being "molded into patriots" and pointing out what you consider to be very real flaws with your system. Let's look at the following examples of "leftist indoctrination", shall we?

- Did the free market fall into a massive recession as the result of lack of effective and enforced governmental regulation on the financial sectors?
- Did the United States illegally invade Iraq and lead to the deaths of more civilians there than Al Qaeda ever dreamed of killing?
- Is evolution correct? Your assertion that accountants and lawyers don't need to know about it is an excellent example of that same slippery slope that conservatives are so fond of: Once you've decided that you can lie and make up stories about an established scientific fact because it doesn't affect you personally, where does it stop?
- "The US is the greatest threat to world peace" isn't a pronouncement made by Chomsky. It's the very literal answer from a majority of world-wide poll responders. Whether you agree with it or not, you still have to admit the obvious: To the rest of the planet, we're starting to look more and more like the bad guys.

Both resorting to more and more desperate measures (i.e. hyperbole) in their attempts to have their way of thinking - certainly by being reduced to Attention Whoring* - try and remain relevant.

...but then, if right-wing thinking still had any relevance, why isn't the world exactly as you would wish it, Aunty?

Why didn't the people of Hull vote for the three UKRAP candidates running for Parliament here in the UK several months ago? Why were the original Labour MPs - including mine, Karl Turner - returned to Parliament with increased majorities, if their centre-left thinking, thus their policies & voting patterns, are considered to be so inferior: but only by your subjective 'opinions'?

I see you're missing the point. Nobody here has said anything about bullying.
The OP doesn't state what it is about public school they consider child abuse, although the content of the post imply that they refer to the whole concept of public-schooling as opposed to private- or home-schooling.
Everyone who has commented so far has been refuting this (or in the case of Anti-FSTDT, supporting it) by focusing on the content of what is taught.
Bullying is a problem that will exist in any type of non-home school to some degree. How badly or well it is dealt with and prevented depends entirely on an individual school's staff and not whether it's a public school

Why do you say that schools "don't mold children into patriots" like that's a bad thing? Oh, I totally get your point that the polar opposite of "molding into patriots" is bad, but so is the original "molding into patriots".

I have no doubt that there are idiotic millenials who believe that Western civilization is somehow uniquely racist and evil (I suspect there's a few on this site), but that view doesn't get pushed in public schools. Texas, for example, tried to replace the word "slave" in history lesson with all manner of other words which don't carry the same weight. It's bullshit to teach that Western civilization, containing some of the most free societies in the modern world, is the Galactic Empire. It is equally bullshit to do what Texas is doing. If the former is being done in public high schools, may I have a citation? And not just one isolated school, I mean where it is done with the blessing of the State Board of Education.

As for colleges, I took a few history and political science courses at my college, and didn't get any of this brainwashing you speak of. One of my professors was the head of the faculty union and openly told us the first day what his views were. He also made it clear that he wasn't going to push his views, and he stuck to that promise throughout class. He made us read works by people with differing points of view, and at no point were we required to profess leftist ideas.

Though I will agree that Chomsky is a joke and should go back to teaching students how to articulate the words "would you like fries with that?"
