Suffering and hardship are blessings from God. I never could understand that until I lived without hardship for 4 or 5 months.

Donald Keyballs, dude. Did you read the post? Re-read the first line and tell me again that this isn't fundie.
Suffering + Hardship + fundie mentality = Blessing from god.
Hey timberwolf, If you think it'll bring you more blessings, I can sure "bless" you across the head each morning with a tire iron.
OK, if "suffering and hardship" are truly "blessings from God," then you, sir, have finally been the person who tipped me all the way over into atheism.
I don't care who or what you are. While suffering and harship may make you a better, more capable person through lessons learned and self-discipline acquired. While it may make you more caring of others or more aware of the ramifications of one's actions, "suffering and hardship" will never qualify as a "blessing," and to sit there and pine away for a time when life was hard and even getting up sucked is a rather novel form of emotional flagellation, isn't it?
Do you deliberately go out and make your life hard? So you seek out suffering? If not, then by your own logic you are striving to avoid these things and thus are rejecting the "blessings" God has intended for you.
If God really turns out to be such a heartless bastard, I want no part of him, so I guess it's good news for me that you are full of shit.
Good morning Allgoree! I see we are going to have to start with the basics. ^_^
You just had this exchange:
@Algore: What's your evidence you're not a troll?
@Tiny: Same as your evidence that you're not.
Now, superficially that looks like you made a smartarse retort but if you look closely you will see you just agreed with Tiny Bulcher. A troll , as I expect you are aware, is someone who intrudes on a community to disrupt it and provoke reactions from the members. I suppose you might be a snert instead (I learned a new word! Isn't that cool?) but troll will do. We can see that Tiny Bulcher is not a troll because Tiny fits in with the community here and does not attempt to insult the other commentors. You, on the other hand, do post deliberately inflammatory material including personal insults and heaping scornful derision on the positions of the established community rather than engaging in reasoned debate. So the same evidence - your behaviour and that of Tiny Bulcher - shows you to be a troll and Tiny not to be.
Except you don't seem to be very good at it, considering you are going around agreeing with people. It's cute and all but I imagine you would be much happier to be corrected so you can learn how to apply yourself better so here I am!
I do hope you have learned something today my Goree Nutcase friend. :-)
*kisses*
Hey, fire away, please . I'd love to see what you have up your sleeves. So long as you aren't insulting the lot of us you ain't a troll. Unless someone wants to argue that Algore is part of the established community?
Algore Lib Nutcase,
You must work very hard to avoid any contact with reality.
Timberwolf,
suffering is a consequense of failure, it is NOT a "blessing"
Well, I hope you continue to receive such "blessings." In fact, I've been so "blessed" for many years and I would be happy to share my "blessings" with you.
Of course, Redhunter's tireiron idea is appealling, too.
I think this logic is good. If suffering and hardship are blessings from God, then we should make guys like Timberwolf suffer as much hardship as possible. Then we're doing God's work, and we'll all be happy.
"Al the Nut definitely should not be banned. It's one thing to tear up these nutjobs from their quotes, but he's here live, constantly feeding more garbage to tear apart. He's a great resource."
I agree. He seems to think he's making brillant, pithy comments, but all he's actually making is a fool of himself. This guy is hilarious!
* ATHEISTS ARE INTELLIGENT
My, aren't you the clever one?
Well, Scarlet, he IS quoting from his favorite book - though he roots for the wrong side, I would guess.
Sweetie, I wasn't telling you not to try to challenge the people here, I was helping you out with your definitions, since you seemed to not be clear on what a troll is.
Of course you can challenge the beliefs of the people here (not all atheists, mind) and since you seem to want to I will expand on my tips from earlier. Reasoned debate is important. This means forming coherent arguments and backing them up with sourced information, otherwise you are just flailing about and no one will take you seriously. Not insulting people helps too, or at least make you look more like someone who is trying to have a serious argument. Or you can keep on as you have been. That's fun too. ^_^
Troll: Go back to trolling school, you suck at it. You're acting like a five year old bully. Though I guess the intellectual comparison is apt.
Timberwolf's comment isn't really fundie, though the idea of God making you suffer out of love is kind of disturbing.
I see. Since this is a "community" of Atheist Fundies, and since those Atheist Fundies are "provoked" when their Sacred Atheist Cows are challenged, you feel the solution is that nobody should challenge those poor widdle Atheist Fundies?
Hey, Algore's big nuts in your face...
Yet at the same time those Atheist Fundies should be allowed to challenge the Sacred Religious Cows of others?
Just the fact that you think this was some sort of coherant and/or well thought out response is why we don't want you to go. You truly have no clue.
Holy shit. If suffering is a blessing, what the hell is a curse ?
For the most part though, I think this is really just terribly worded.
Well, perhaps horribly worded.
Maybe he could use your mother instead? Oh wait, she's already tied up, "doing" your uncle. Never mind...
Okay, that so pathetic, it was funny...
As per the OP... stop slandering the name Timberwolf!
That is all.

"So I quit my job, gave away my house, my clothes, and all my belongings, donated my bank account to charity, jumped off a second-floor balcony to break both my legs, and went to live in a cardboard box on the sidewalk. God is blessing me every day, yes, sir, praise the Lord."
Confused?
