*health care bill*
Okay, so what if they make this mandatory, and us Christians have not been raptured yet? I was always under the impression that the mark of the beast would be in conjunction with worshipping the AC. That you would not get the mark of the beast unless you were willing to worship him. So if they make this mandatory through the health care bill, do we submit and take it, if it is NOT in conjunction with worshipping the AC?

The Jesus I learned about would be quite pleased with a health care that would benefit even the poorest of society. I always get the impression that, if Christ really does return, you morons would be the first to label him the Anti-Christ.
Heh, the irony of such an event would probably cause the heat death of the universe or some such.
If they make it before the rapture happens, you will be, at least, a little healthier than usual with no cost. Sounds great, eh?
Because you really thought that the Mark of the Beast would be facultative, that you could just avoid getting it ? As far as I remember from my reading of that trippy Revelation book, it didn't seem that the Antichrist would give people any choice about it, or that the "true believers" would just be able to politely (or not-so-politely) decline it. John's summary of his drug-induced hallucinations is pretty clear : those who would refuse the Mark would become outlaws and pariahs.

You obviously don't have enough faith in the rapture to post on RR. I hope you don't get banned too soon.
Anyone else highly amused that they're actually pondering whether or not the health care plan is the mark of the beast? I mean, why waste your life wondering if this or that is a sign of the end times, hoping that it is?
I think that Physics will prohibit the AC ever being in DC.
And if they make good health mandatory, perhaps some of you fat-arsed fundies might lose some weight and live longer. Europeans wonder at how you can become such ignorant slobs in a land that is wealthy and in need of a vibrant and healthy population.
"I was always under the impression that the mark of the beast would be in conjunction with worshipping the AC."
I live in the South. From late June through September I will worship my AC very much.
What exactly is this mark of Air Conditioning to which you refer? A big Carrier imprint on my forehead?
"... if it is NOT in conjunction with worshipping the AC?"
Do my wondering ears deceive me?
Is someone on the Rapture Ready bulletin board actually suggesting that a piece of legislation favored by President Obama may NOT , in fact, be associated with the Antichrist?
Truly the end times ARE upon us!
Yes, that definitely is a great dilemma. I mean, what are you to do under these circumstances? This whole religion thing is complicated business. After all, if god was omnipotent then there wouldn't even be a problem, but at least he's willing to help you out when the crunch comes. Now, what are we going to do about this anti-christ conjunction issue?
Do you have a social security number? You know the number given to you after you where born. I remember my grandfather told me how a friend of his thought that it was the antichrist. That was till he turned 65 and started using it.
The point is, everything to you crazies is the antichrist.
Hey, I always wonder if people like this ever consider what it would be like to be in a family that would benefit from universal health care, rather than not? I mean, seriously, have they ever considered walking a mile in others' shoes, or is that too "beneath" them?
Canada's had public healthy for years. It's also had Christians ever since the first European fur trader decided to settle down here.
Evidently, the world hasn't come to an end yet and we Canadians have both a lower infant mortality rate and a longer average lifespan.
It almost sounds like they're starting to realize that they're just as fucked as the rest of us!!
The "Rapture" has only been around since the 1700's. Jesus never said anything about it. You are going to die, be put in the ground, and rot.
Quit trying to hold us back, RRetard.
We in the UK have had the National Health Service since the late 1940s. We're still here.
'Mark'? The only thing we have is our National Insurance number. I believe you in the US already have something akin to that. So what's the problem?
Besides, why should you on Ruptured Retards care? Why even bother with paying health insurance? You don't need it after all. You have prayer & faith in your 'God' to heal all ills.
And it's free.
Enjoy your paradox, friharbor.

Does somebody have that "Jesus - Wrong for America" attack ad?
I honestly wonder sometimes what these people would do if they realized they wouldn't vote for their own Savior. Find a new Savior, I suppose...
The mark of the beast isn't your health insurance number, it's your Social Security Number.
No wait, it's your credit card number.
Or the number on your currency.
Oh wait more, it's 6.6.6. - the letters in the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
