Yeah, but I bet they don't know more than atheists ('e' before 'i').

I think he was just referring to those who are the "most athy."

"This is sad because Hovind and Ham are almost entirely *without* knowledge in the sciences."
I'm not quite so sure on that... Hovind, at least, has been corrected on so many occasions that he cannot have any excuse but willful ignorance. Indeed, I think he must know *something* about science by now, but ignores what he does know every time he opens his mouth.

You may indeed be right, but I don't think "willful ignorance" really covers it. If he knows the facts and misrepresents or ignores them he must know them and is therefore not ignorant. How about if we settle on disingenuous? >>

I think that "disingenuous" is too nice-sounding a word; it carries the right basic meaning, but it just doesn't sufficiently convey the degree of dishonesty involved here. "Fraudulent" comes a lot closer.

Hovind and Ham have to have at least some clues about sciences by now. What impresses me, and is most notable, is the fact (this IS a fact) that they don't break into uncontrollable laughs when they explain their "theories". I couldn't stop laughing even for a million dollars.
Check out the rating on this post: As of my writing this, it has been rated a whopping 62 times, yet its current rating is a mere 1.69, and I know it used to be much higher. I would bet a hundred cyberbucks that fundies from Christian Forums or thereabouts have been stuffing the ballot box with ones on this post's ratings to bring its overall rating down.

The sad fact is that both Hovind and Ham are horribly, irreconcibly wrong whenever they open their mouths and yet people are so willing to believe their bald-faced lies or legitimate-sounding idiocy that they think that two bullshit artists know better than the scientific community at large! It's gullible, uninformed and intellectually lazy rubes like yourself that lets their absurd display of outright falsehoods profitable enough for them to continue the act, and do so without ever having the threat of losing credibility with their audience. They will never lose credibility because their audience consists of people who would never bother to fact check them and want so desperately to believe .
Shorter version: you're wrong, either crack a book or STFU.
I think they know a smiggen more than their fans. Point is, I don't think it matters to these people, all you need to be a scientist or knowledgeable in their world is proclamations of your faith.
Hovind and Ham have spent far more time digging up old creationist claims and defending them then either have ever spent with a science book. They're preachers of Christianity, nothing else, and in America that requires no education or intelligence. Kids and mentally challenged people do it, it's the easiest ego-feeding profession in the world.

...oh bollocks.", is probably how AngryNotice would have finished his sentence.
Just as Kent Hovind is going to finish every sentence with '...MY ARSE!' whenever he sits down after he finishes his sentence. [/Schadenfreude ] >:D

You say the FACT is PROBABLY? So, that’s not a fact, then, is it? It’s your fervent hope or wish that these people are competent in the fields they dismiss and villify.
But Dr. Dino fell for a university prank about Onyate Man. That’s worse than teaching Nebraska Man as a fact. Answers in Genesis has a page on their site that lists ‘arguments creationists shouldn’t use’ because they’re pretty blatantly wrong. Most of them are arguments Hovind has used and defends.
Confused?
