It occurs to me that gun owners are the new persecuted blacks of the 60s. The Democrats in the KKK in the 60s persecuted blacks, and now the modern-day version of the Democrat KKK is persecuting gun owners.

I guess we need a Martin Luther King, Jr. to help us keep our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

The cake may be a lie, but you're trying to eat that too; remember: that precious '2nd Amendment' of yours either applies to all people, or none. And that's non-negotiable; 'You'll take my gun when you prise it from my cold, dead hands', and all that jazz.

It's either ALL (as in the drug dealers & school-shooting loonies too), or NONE.

Hmm. Our state recently legalized carrying concealed weapons into hotels, bars, and restaurants. Before that, gun owners could still enter hotels, bars, and restaurants, provided they didn't conceal their weapon and with the permission of the owner of the business. Even if the proprietor of the business didn't grant permission, the gun owner could still enter, just without his gun.

Blacks in the South in the 1960s, on the other hand, were barred from hotels, bars, and restaurants. Nothing they could do could gain them the right to eat in the same place as a white man.

Next time I'm back in the US, I'll look out for the drinking fountains that say "non-gun owners only" on them.

You idiots are too stupid to get this, right? You don't need leadership, if you are against new gun control laws GO HOLD PROTESTS. That is the democratic way to do it, and to not give police a freaking heart attack, leave your guns at home. FFS, some Arabs with nothing more than a voice and their bodies just made governments fall. If you are so many, do something.

The KKK are conservative Republicans in today's political climate, you imbecile. Who passed the Civil Rights Act? A Democrat. A Democrat who realized that he was turning the South over to the GOP as he did so. The fact that historically (meaning BEFORE the 60s) the KKK were Democrats is due to the parties' shifting positions - you would have been a Democrat too back then.

I'm not persuaded that gun owners are "persecuted" considering that they're defined by choosing to own something designed to kill people.

I'm always amused when people use phrases like "it occurs to me" or "I realized that" when making an absolutely ridiculous assertion with no supporting evidence whatsoever. I like to imagine how these people would work in an academic environment - turn in a research paper where the "Works Cited" page is just "I realized it!" over and over.
