And since Jesus was the first true fundamentalist and he was killed, then those who stand up for his word the most (fundamentalist) will be treated the same way he was as he tells us we will be and this forum shows.

Jesus, if he existed at all, would have been defined as a liberal. He was preaching against the current church at the time, and the whole reason he was killed was because they thought he was undermining them.
Yeah. Jesus actually broke away from the holy text of the time and wasn't all about the fire and brimstone of the Old Testament, and they killed him. He didn't yell on street corners for everyone to stone all the sinners. Quite the opposite, actually.
"Hey, you know all that stuff about eternal damnation and killing things for God that we've been doing for the last few thousand years? Yeah, we're not going to do that anymore."
Yep, Jesus sure was the original fundie.
The first fundamentalist?, the one who came to reform the law?,the revolutionary who treated women as equals, despised the Sabbath and called the pious pharisees "white caves"? Oh dear, what type of shit do they teach them in homeschooling?
Oh please, stop with the persecution complex already. If you think anything that can happen on an internet forum is as bad as crucifixion, then there is no help for you.
Adrian: I read that the same way, hahaha.
The definition we apply to fundamentalism has really little to do with its denotation or any religious meaning.
I would say Jesus was not a fundamentalist at all, even though he technically started his religion.
A better term might be 'fanatic' and 'fanaticism'
“will be treated the same way he was as he tells us we will be and this forum shows.”
I do love a good persecuted Christain, these days.
You’re not crucified.
You won’t be thrown to the lions.
You won’t be burned at the stake, hung like a witch, moved to a ghetto, or denied access to an atheist-only hospital, school, lunch counter, bathroom.
You’re mocked. Your ignorance of history, theology, the contents of the Bible, the history of the Bible, and English are pointed out, maybe celebrated.
And you think yourself treated like Jesus after his arrest.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
