Ummm...Indians are not Christians and in the bible the woman is submissive to her husband. It is God ordained and it does work. I was a very independent woman and I run our businesses while my husband is a SAHD and homeschool dad. He is still the husband and man of the home. He is the decision maker and I bow to his decisions. The indian way is NOT God's way and if you look at how the indians have fared you will see that they did not do so well.

Gee, one of the rising economic superpowers of our time along with China, one of the few countries in the developing world that is in fact developing, one of the most culturally advanced civilisations around (seriously - the use of complex rhythms, microtones and drones in their music is amazing), one of the postcolonial paragons of how freedom of religion and speech along with democracy can gradually foster a strong and promising independent nation in its own right, and they're not doing so well. Clearly I've been misinformed as to what constitutes success...
Is this Rapture-robot talking about Native Americans, or the people of India?
Native Americans were killed off by the thousands by early European settlers. Not because they weren't Christian, but because they weren't white Europeans.
The citizens of India are actually doing fairly well, despite the troubles they've had lately.
And in both groups, there is a notable population of Christians. Kathe's been brainwashed into believing that religion is dependent on nationality & ethnicity. How pathetic.
"in the bible the woman is submissive to her husband."
In the bible snakes talk about magic fruit, so I wouldn't put too much stock in it.
There are Indians who are Christian now, were Christian in the past and the future, go figure(you know, so much contact with Europeans............). Second, could you right a little better and stop contradicting yourself?, otherwise, your husband will have to homeschool you. And by the way, the Indians didn't fare so well, maybe, because they were exterminated by your ancestors?, just a thought.
Ok, are we talking about Native Americans or those from India?
Secondly, you are not an independent woman if you still bow to your husbands decisions just because he is 'the man'. You are only fooling yourself.
Native Americans didn't do well, that's true. I attribute it to things like smallpox-infected blankets, gruesome slaughters and herding them onto reservations. You know, the usual Christian way of treating indigenous populations.
The funny thing is she's the breadwinner of the family and yet still has an antiquated notion of "head of the household".
And yes, Native Americans, not so great, constantly marginalized. (You have no idea how happy the Mashpee Wampanoag are with the idea of opening a casino near Cape Cod. I wouldn't be surprised if at least a few of them consider it payback.) India Indians, yes, poor country, but they seem to do very well as far as educational opportunities. With any luck that'll be the end of the caste system within a couple of generations once and for all.
Just look at one FACT. Indian culture is very male-centric. It's like Catholisism in that way. They give credit and adoration, even worship for the female but they demand male prominance.
At least some religions like women
What the Hell happened to you Rapturites? Most religions have accepted females as equals at least. Only far-right religion speaks of women as a defined sub-group, diminished by lack of body strength or different natural drive.
You people gotta wake up.
Was the intent of this post, other than to promote the subjugation of women, to suggest that their God is one of war that won over the "false gods" of the natives when they were killed and forced into submission? In any case, these arguments sound even more incredible today after the discovery of more graveyards full of natives around Church institutions.
Lastly, if you're claiming that somehow, in your particular brand of religion you are faring better in life and health, thanks to some mysterious benediction, I doubt it. The posts that I see from that website are full of irrational fears and ignorance, for instance. That's not a sign of a healthy mind.
Confused?
