I think a weird version of Christianity is creeping in, you know, ‘who are we to judge’ and that whole tolerance thing. Look, the most intolerant people on the planet are the gay activists, maybe up there with the jihadists. They are not tolerant and they are really seeking to redefine Christianity. If more pastors understood how homosexual activists want to redefine the word of God and redefine morality itself, maybe they would encourage people to get involved.

Yeah, that weird old book of theirs, saying "Judge not, lest ye be judged".

In what way is it intolerant to want to be able to live their lives in peace? Many of the "activists" working for equal rights are straight. Who cares about redefining Christianity? You can have your musty old religion and define it whatever way you want, as long as you keep it where it belongs; in church and in your homes.

We want to go back to the definition of morality that says "Treat others as you want to be treated" and "love thy neighbor as yourself". Perhaps most pastors understand that in today's society, human rights trumps all other issues, and adhere more to the teachings of Jesus than the teachings from the old Jewish texts that became the OT.

It's not the Progressive, normal, sane, Mainline, Liberal & Esoteric Christians that are redefining the faith, bub. It's you & other ChristoZealots who are more in line with the worst of the OT Demiurge than the more humane teachings & Way of The Nazorean Path.

I admit that both sides cherry-pick the Bible. However, Zealots tend to cherry-pick the nasty, angry, authoritarian stuff while the regular, sane believers tend to cherry-pick mostly the nicer stuff that teaches good constructive things which enrich the soul & life & promote a better world.

I'm a ShaktaPagan, Blending Shakta Hinduism with Wicca but my spiritual scope is also a bit universalist & interfaith in nature. I see truths in all faith & texts & I reject the crappy, sexually repressive, irrational, bigoted, sexist stuff as "Demiurgic delusions". I believe in universal reconciliation/damnation as a temporary purification, reincarnation and the unity of faith & reason. I'm happy & balanced and I'm tolerant of all folks regardless of sex, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, color, nationality, economic standing, disability, creed or lack thereof. I welcome the theist, deist, agnostic & atheist.

I'd say I'm more Christ-like than you, Mr. Fundiepants.

Do you know what a Jihadist is? Redefining Christianity probably isn't very high on their list of things to do.

...okay. Now please point out on this doll where the nasty Homosexual Agenda touched you personally?

Because the 'Who are we to judge' types - the Quakers, Amish/Mennonites et al - and the non-fundie Christians in general - don't seem to have a problem with LGBT people, so what makes you think that you have the right to even think of saying anything other than 'They are perfectly normal decent people who have as much right to live in peace & freedom as I do'. And no, 'Because men kissing men is yucky! EW!' is not a justifiable excuse, neither.

No longer having the legal right to persecute others, just because their lifestyle is 'different' to yours, is not in itself Persecution.
