This is just a ploy to bring down the Christian religion. Gay marriage becomes law. A church refuses to marry gays. ACLU sues them and sets a precedent. Now the choice for the churches are either to perform the marriages or close down, undermining the very foundations of the Bible and the religion itself. It's all part of the Communists' plot to destroy what this country was founded on. Thus ushering in their totalitarian state.

Hm. Do I reference mirrors, bigots in tinfoil hats, pac-man charts, or McCarthy?
EDIT: I made a whoops! Forgot to mention the founding fathers and the deism thereof.
Mike, I don't think you understand what the ACLU does. The issue is whether or not the state governments will consent to marrying gays, because believe it or not, the states not the church issues marriage licenses.
Hey. Atleast this is'nt attributed to aliens or my personal favourite The Jew... (I want to find The Jew and test out his super powers. If all the crap that he has attributed to him/her is true then he would be badass. We could fight crime in ludicrous outfits!)
To be fair, gay people once denied a church are pretty much going to go find a church that will marry them. And to be fair the "gays" have been getting married for decades. Its just that their marriages are'nt valid in the eyes of the law since marriage is pretty much a vow of exclusivity. The difference between heterosexual and homosexual marriage is that heterosexual marriage is a contract rather than a vow.
And this plot is unnecessarily Machiavellian. Look for most people a "complex plot" is killing someone with polonium. Not utilising gay marriage in a exceedingly complicated way.
You know, this was reasonable until the last two sentences. Wrong, but reasonable.
Then it just went batshit insane in a single line.
Nobody's said that Churches have to marry gays
Catholic churches don't have to marry protestants, why would this be any different?
And who exactly wants the totalitarian state.
this my friends, is an example (albeit quite minor) of why the existance of soviet spys in the US still cannot justify McCarthy's red scare, because there are still people who have it in their heads that anything bad is communist, and that anyhting that has even remotely socialist connotations is communist, and will "obviously" lead to a communist government and the end of democracy .
So, the next time you see someone call maccarthyism justified due to the fact that spying existed, please smack them ovedr the head with a book listing the names of everyone whos life was unfairly ruined, and of all the after effects that still exist today due to the "anything that the communists do is evil, and anyone who chooses to do those things is an evil commie" attitude that that era spawned.

“This is just a ploy to bring down the Christian religion.”
And i suppose you’re going to say there’s a downside, too?
“Gay marriage becomes law. A church refuses to marry gays. ACLU sues them and sets a precedent.”
Well, the ACLU would have to win to set the precedent.
I don’t see winning in this case.
However, if the church runs a business, and that business uses the church to justify discriminating against an SSM couple, then that’s subject to a lawsuit.
But that’s not briging down Christainity, just hypocrisy.
"Now the choice for the churches are either to perform the marriages or close down, undermining the very foundations of the Bible and the religion itself.”
No. Part of the Bible says ‘render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s.’
Run the business side as a business, leave the church apart.
“It's all part of the Communists' plot to destroy what this country was founded on.”
This country was founded on telling King George to fuck off. Christainity shows up nowhere in the Federalists Papers.
"Thus ushering in their totalitarian state.”
You guys keep cheering for Trump and his threat to take personal control of all parts of the government to punish his political opponents and witnesses against him.
Confused?
