New Orleans has long had a very dark, demonic air about it. It's quite heavily into voodoo, incantations, tarot, ouija, etc. It's like a mainland Haiti. Precious little light is allowed in, oppression is huge. Look at Mardi Gras. One huge week of drinking, debauchery, flashing people for beads, there is absolutely nothing resembling anything Christian about it.
