Lots of new movies are about Zombies and pestilence. I just don't get why people are discussing zombies everywhere on the net? Even the Govt. has a Zombie prepardness alert. No kidding.

As I was reading different message boards about how people are preparing for this Zombie Apocolypse, I kept seeing "Z-DAY" pop up everywhere. I googled Z-DAY and there are 2 billion seven hundred fifty thousand websites!! Zombie Day.

You know, I think there just may be some crazy connection to the rapture here. The dead in Christ shall rise.

Good grief, are we that close that the delusion is already hear?

As I was reading different newspapers about how people are preparing for disasters, I kept seeing another ad for a movie about a huge earthquake in Los Angeles. I looked at the local library, and there are a lot of books about the geology of california and how a huge earthquake could happen there in the next years!!!

'madeNheaven', I'll bet you would believe that "The Care Bears", "Voltron", The Wizard of Oz" & "Alice In Wonderland" were historical true life documentaries, too.

Apart from folks in Haiti stuck in a brain-damaging, will-destroying, chemically-induced pufferfish-powder slavery-trance, there is NO SUCH THING AS ZOMBIES!!!

(Technically, real zombies aren't even walking corpses, they're those trance-people described above. "Walking Dead" are a recent horror movie invention & a form of vampire. What we call "zombies" today are actually called "revenants". Vampires are technically revenants. Zombies are living people under some trance from a corrupt, renegade Voudun sorceror. Thus ends my Monster Folklore History Lesson.)

Corpses are dead & rotting, to think that such a figure, if they could move around, could wreak any real havoc is nuts.

Zombies are a staple of the horror genre. Plus, Halloween is coming up. Not to mention that zombies are the most "human" of the typical horror monster so they hold a special fascination with many people since they are, in effect, us.

They've also spent several tens of millions of dollars running war games with such a scenario. As unlikely as an actual zombie outbreak would be, it is useful for simulating a highly infectious disease and the steps that the government would need to take should it happen.

No, no. They did that already. It was during the crucifixion. There was also an earthquake and eclipse to go with the walking dead but, apparently, nobody noticed save one author in the Bible since we don't have any records of it outside of that one instance.

I know you Raptards keep yourselves sheltered from most of the world because you deem it evil, but I'd just like to clue you in that the whole recent zombie thing started out as an internet meme. In case you don't know what a meme is, you might try searching on google or try visiting a website outside of Rapture Ready once in a while.

And the government zombie preparedness thing was a joke. I know you guys over there at RR don't have anything resembling a sense of humor, but it was not meant to be taken seriously.

Well, y'know, there's always an alternative: the latest series of "Torchwood": 'Miracle Day'. Similar scenario, but no zombies.

...what's that? The notion that an unknown phenomenon that has rendered the entire population of planet Earth immortal (except for Capt. Jack Harkness) you find even more offensive, because it brings forth the concept of eternal life without spiritual Salvation?

Not for nothing has "Highschool of the Dead" become one of the fastest-licenced anime to Western distributors (Sentai Filmworks, USA/Canada; Madman Entertainment, Australasia; Manga Entertainment, UK) on DVD & Blu-Ray. The manga has become a massive hit too.

*- Or not. As proven by CLAMP. They started out as doujinshi artists/writers, no less.
