Use of the dictionary in this context would only be useful if he had looked up the phrase "sexual intercourse". As with many phrases in the English language, it connotes more things than its component parts. Jayson, you are an idiot.

What an idiot. Jayson spent the time looking up "intercourse" but neglected to look up "sexual," which means "of, relating to, or associated with sex or the sexes," or "having or involving tha act of sex," so a better definition of "sexual intercourse" is "dealings between persons involving the act of sex." Duh.
That is the most twisted, um, logic, I have ever read. I use use the word 'logic' lightly of course.

There's got to be a word for people who nitpick over etymologies and historical definitions in order to avoid using a word to say what it means now. There was a guy on Wikipedia who used to do that (interestingly, he was a Greek Orthodox monk) -- he would consistently harp on the "classical" definitions of words, and would put up a fight over anything that disagreed with it. It was embarrassingly similar to a typical interdenominational doctrinal dispute, except in this case the guy was being demonstrably a jerk.

Wait a moment, I must have missed a step there. How did you go from "persons or groups" to "between the sexes"? Last time I checked two women are two persons and three women are a group.

Anyway, there are many definitions of ‘sex’ and uses, especially in certain specialities. One use in biology is for ‘sex’ to indicate the exchange of genetic material. So single celled creatures can have ‘sex.’ But a man with a condom, or a vasectomy, does not have that form of sex with his wife.
