Ok, I'm hoping that by his Spanish name, that English isn't his first language. Now, baptism isn't a religion, it's a rite. And second, protestants can argue all they want about proving catholicism false, you cannot argue subjective beliefs with objective reality.

IanC - they've been taught that the original apostles were Baptist, that the Catholic Church was an offshoot of the True Church and that True Christians (aka Baptists) continued to meet in secret through the next several centuries, reading their Bibles and passing on their understanding to those who were strong in the Lord, until it was safe to come out again.

Hey there smappy, Catholicism was the first organized form of Christianity, Baptism grew directly out of it. You can't go back to "how it was before" because there was no before, it started with Catholicism. Hell the Romans could have invented Christianity for all we know.

Baptism started as Jewish cleansing, the Catholics adopted it for their Christian religion, Protestants broke off but kept many of the same rituals, Baptists are a branch of Protestant.... so your right, its a Jewish thing.
