There has been a trend over the past 40 years in the United States of America to slowly erode the freedom of expression in respect to the expression of Christian ideals, values, and expectation.
Yes there is a trend, it's called progress. As a result of that progress you don't get to lord over everybody else anymore, well boo-fucking-hoo, excuse me while I wipe away the tears. You don't have an enshrined right in this country to expect anyone or anything to conform to your religious expectations and you don't have a right to expect peole to defer to your wishes by virtue of your religion. I dare you to point out a single instance of erosion of rights that is intended or directed at christian religious expression alone, not being able to force or weasel your religion on others isn't an erosion of your rights, it's a reaffermation of the rights of others, your rights, everyones rights, cease to be the moment they impeade or effect the rights of others.
The Congress, Supreme Court, State Courts, etc. have ignored the writing of the Founding Fathers repeatedly in reference to Christianity and their words have been repeatedly been trod on and misinterpreted.
Like what? The US Constitution is the founding document of this country and there is no mention of christianity, or any other religious belief to be found anywhere in the document. Had the founding fathers intended the US to be an exclusively christian nation, or governed by christians/christian principles then they would have spelled it out quite clearly in the constitution. The very fact that the constitution gurantees that there will be no religious test for any office is proof of that.
Further more I don't want to hear shit about "misinterpreting" the founders writungs from the very same people who think that it's perfectly ok to just make up their own quotes and attribute them to whoever they feel like in order to prop up their agenda. How many "founding fathers" quotes put forth by the likes of David Barton and his ilk cannot be traced to anyone but the person who first put forth the quote? Almost all of the quotes floating around that supposedly "prove" that the founders intended a christian nation are nothing more than forgeries that do not and never had appeared in anything written by any of the founding fathers.
Why is it that the "Hate Crimes Bill" only addresses Christian Churches and does not address all the other "religions" that reside in the USA?
It doesn't. If you had read the legislation instead of just believing whatever you have be told about it then you would know that.
Why is it that it is okay to persecute a coach for having a prayer before a game
Simple, The government and it's employees must remain neutral on the subject when acting in their capacity as a government employee. The coach himself can pray until his little heart is content, but he cannot lead students in a mandatory prayer. It's not likely that every single player will share the same religion or denomination as the coach and it's equally unlikely that a player would just skip a prayer, even if it to a "god" that is not their own, for fear of alienation from his teammates and possible reprecussions from the coach. The coach leading a prayer is a misuse of his authority, intended or not, to enforce his personal religious beliefs on the players.
It's not persecution when the coach is violating the rights of others, would you still feel the same way if the coach was a muslim and leading a muslim prayer that his players were obligated to participate in? I highly doubt it.
but not say anything to someone who wears a burqa
Why would they? It's an expression of personal faith. It's like saying that christian cannot where crosses or t-shirts with religious iconography. You are advocating the very thing you claim to oppose. You seem perfectly fine with religious persecution as long as you are the one doing the persecuting.
Why is it that producing marijuana for sale in northern California is okay but if a Christian church says it is harmful the news media pounces on the Christians?
The issue you are speaking of is marijuana intended for medicinal use by patients with debilitating and often times terminal illnesses, not intended for sale on your local corner. If a church was attacked in the media over their opinions then I think it had more to do with their opinion and actions rather than being persecuted simply because they were christian.
Why is it okay for "gays" to have parades and extol the virtues of their life styles
Because it's a free fucking country. The same rights are intended to be applied equally to all citizens, regardless of their preference of religion or lack thereof, race or ethnicity, gender or sexuality.
but when they are confronted by Christians who believe otherwise, the Christians are persecuted by the news media?
Because more often than not it's the christian who are confronting them who escalate the situation or just resort to violence outright. The reason you get bad press is most likely because your argument against homosexuality isn't that you simply disagree with it, it's that you claim that gays should not be tolerated and must be made to conform or be removed. Your problems stem from the the fact that you attitude towards gays more often than not is "Be Straight or Die", and that view doesn't go over to well with the majority of people who are not willing to kill those who dare to disagree with their view of the world.
As for your claims of "persecution", it's simply bullshit. Disagreement is not persecution, bad press is not persecution, refusing to capitulate to your every whim is not persecution. In fact you don't even know what persecution is because you've never experienced it because you are too busy doing it to others.
Your entire argument is you claiming that you are being persecuted by not being allowed to persecute others. You neither want nor care for the ideals of the founders, You want Christianity uber Alles. You think your choice of religious denomination gives you the right to rule over those who won't conform or convert. You expect people to conform to your beliefs or opinions but are unwilling to extend the same courtesy to them, You cry persecution at every turn all the while gleefully persecuting those whom you see as lesser than yourself, after all, it's not as if they are real people like you and your fellow christians, who cares what happens to them, Right?
