The chance of DNA forming is something like 5.324 to the NEGATIVE 123 power. Some number along those lines. Here is where it gets interesting though, mathmaticians believe that if a number is raised to the negative 50 power, it is equal to 0. Thus, your number is way past zero.
Next, evolution claims people have gotten smarter with time, we evolve to become more advanced and smarter. However, look at the pyramids and other ancient structures. They are incredibally precise, and frankly we can not recreate them today, so we have actually become much dumber as time as gone on.

And yet, it exists. So obviously, this is bullshit.

The theory of evolution says nothing about intelligence. Your stupidity is eveidence that we are not becoming smarter anyway.
Guh, he's right, cars and computers and airplanes have NOTHING on ancient stone tombs, we could never recreate those!
"...mathmaticians believe that if a number is raised to the negative 50 power, it is equal to 0."
Wrong. If that's the final result, it's so close to 0 that mathematicians treat it as 0.
But that isn't the final result.

The only things stopping us from recreating the pyramids is that it is a waste of time, manpower, and resources. and to what purpose? to build some guy's tomb because he was born into a certain family?

An alien looking at you would think so.
Anyway, an experiment 50 years ago was able to show that under the right conditions, amnio acids could be formed. Within a week. So given 1/2 billion years, a lot of things could happen.
Evolution says nothing about people getting smarter. It's all about what gets passed on.
Try reading up on dysgenics to see how that can result in a population getting dumber.
Failing that, watch Idiocracy. That movie explains the concept right there.
mathmaticians believe that if a number is raised to the negative 50 power, it is equal to 0
Mathematicians believe no such thing, and you have just illustrated that you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. But thanks for playing :)
Incredibly precise? You're using a fucking computer. If it's relatively new, it probably has more than a billion transistors on it tenths of square micrometres in size. FYI, a tenth of a square micrometre is 1 to the NEGATIVE 49 power times the size of a square metre.
OK, let's go through this...
1: That probability would be for DNA forming out of nothing, which no one with any sense really suggests.
2: Let's say I roll a million dice. The chances of them all being sixes is astronomically low. However, the chances of them all being the values that they are is also astronomically low. Yet it happened.
3: Evolution doesn't claim that people get smarter with time. It claims that those organisms which are better suited to changes in their environment will end up surviving more than those which are not.
4: We can't yet recreate the pyramids USING THE METHODS THEY USED, partially because we don't understand exactly how they did it. We could quite simply make pyramids using modern methods.
In short, you fail on every level.
Actually, up to a point, he's right on the 'we've gotten dumber' statement. The fall of the Roman Empire set us back almost five hundred years. We could have been on the moon in the 16th Century according to some.
But that has nothing to do with evolution.
The probability of a particular sequence of 100 numbers coming up on a roulette wheel is about 10^-158. Yet some sequence of at least 100 numbers come up on a typical casino's roulette wheel every few hours. Now if someone specified the 100 numbers in advance and they came up, that would be miraculous. From this we learn that it's only miraculous if it is both exceedingly unlikely and it was specified in advance. In other words, raw DNA probabilities, even if they're accurate, are meaningless.
don't generalize.
"...so we have actually become much dumber as time as gone on"
should be
"...so I have actually become...."
and what is " much dumber" apart from appalling English
Of course we could recreate the pyramids today. We have not gotten dumber. However, because of Christianity, the world lost most of the knowledge that had been aquired by the Egyptians, Greeks, and the Roman Empire up to its fall. Although the Roman Empire had begun to crumble due to it sheer size and inability to defend such a vast area, the final nail in the coffin was the conversion of Constantine to Christianity. Once the Church got its hands on the power seat, it began to systematically destroy all technical knowledge because it wasn't "godly." This put the world into an extended period of non-growth and non-discovery. Perhaps you've heard of it. It was called the Dark Ages. It was when thee church controled everything. Only when power began to be taken away from the Church did we begin to experience a rebirth of knowledge.
There is no telling how advanced our world would be now if if wasn't for you fucking Christians.
However, look at the pyramids and other ancient structures. They are incredibally precise, and frankly we can not recreate them today, so we have actually become much dumber as time as gone on.
Well, sounds like someone didn't get past triginometry here!
"mathmaticians believe that if a number is raised to the negative 50 power, it is equal to 0"....
Really! Wherever did you find this postulate?
"Thus, your number is way past zero."
Tell me, which direction is *past* zero?
Nice going, fucktard.
Modern Pyramids
The world would be so much better, and so much more advanced without religion. Fuck you, religion, if it weren't for you, I'd be flying around in my hover-car right now.
As you didn't write that as "5.324^-123" I doubt what you say about mathematicians is accurate. Saying "Thus, your number is way past zero," proves you have no clue what you're talking about.
You then prove that you don't understand what evolution is or how it functions, or even what our current civil engineering level is in comparison to ancient civilizations, both of which are completely separate from each other.
The only thing that equals zero is zero. If a mathematician "believes" that any number other than zero is equal to zero then I would contend that the said mathematician is an idiot. Furthermore, zero is an abstract not to mention that a ratio of probability that you mentioned, whether correct or not, is probably calculated for any one instance of molecules randomly binding together. Since, according to the theory, there were entire oceans of these molecules, the probability increases accordingly. Your strawman analogy is a piece of crap... so shut the fuck up.
There is actually a whole branch of mathematics dedicated to working with numbers extremely close to other numbers. They're called "infinitesimals". I independently developed my own way of working with them in the 10th grade to get around the whole lim_(x->0) 1/x problem. It isn't a hard concept.
Any number other than zero raised to any negative power is not equal to zero. 1/:inf: does not equal zero. For that matter, zero raised to any negative power is undefined.
Learn some mathematics before trying to talk about it.
The chance of an egg and a spermatozoid joining and then implanting in the uterus is similar to the proportion you mention but, you see, nevertheless, we're 6,000 million people.
So let me get this straight...
First some religious zealots destroy knowledge by burning books, whole libraries (Alexandria) and smart people because they didn't like their knowledge...
... and now other religious zealots like yourself use this missing knowledge to argue that evolution does not happen.
The next thing you'll tell us will be that we should burn all copies of "The Origin of Species.", right?
1 a number raised to the negative 50th doesn't equal zero
2 either you or someother bullshitting creationist made up the number in the first place
3 the pyramids and other ancient structures are not, to use your phrase & your spelling "incedibally precise"
4 fundies expempted we have not become dumber as time has gone on
The chance of DNA forming is something like 5.324 to the NEGATIVE 123 power.
Whoever said DNA was as complicated as it is today when it first formed? Whoever said it formed entirely at random all in one go? Whoever said you only get one try, which is presumably what your figure describes? And while you're at it, would you care to show your working?
mathmaticians believe that if a number is raised to the negative 50 power, it is equal to 0.
No, they don't.
look at the pyramids and other ancient structures. They are incredibally precise, and frankly we can not recreate them today
Ever been to Las Vegas?
4: We can't yet recreate the pyramids USING THE METHODS THEY USED, partially because we don't understand exactly how they did it.
They had whips, Gadren. Massive, massive whips.
The day we find an unknown pyramid, open it up and find a space shuttle and penicllin inside, I'll accept the ancients were smarter, until then you are one dumb fundie with some cock-a-mamie ideas.
Numbers under the power of -50 are zero?
Well, I'll just be substituting zeroes in for all the hbar-squareds in quantum mechanics.
No doubt it will probably prove that God exists, too.
Fucking idiot.
Eep, sorry, it didn't look this big on the site where I found it.
I want the edit function back. :'(
The pictures in the top left and the middle are micro-manipulators (very, very small tweezers) - the arms attract each other when an electric current passes through them.
The picture in the top right is probably the tip of an AFM (Atomic Force Microscope) .
The spherical thing is the base unit for such a microscope/micro-manipulator. The object to be manipulated/examined can be attached to the plate on the sphere and rotated in position.
I'm not quite sure about the other photos. those look like some control modules and a layer with AFM tips.
"...However, look at the pyramids and other ancient structures. They are incredibally precise, and frankly we can not recreate them today, so we have actually become much dumber as time as gone on."
Perhaps if fanatical Christian mobs hadn't burned the library at Alexandria, we would have been able to retain such information?
"Here is where it gets interesting though, mathmaticians believe that if a number is raised to the negative 50 power"
While it might for most practical purposes (What do you need 5^-123 Newton for? Or 5^-123 centimeters?) be treated as if it were zero, it is not zero.
Sandman, probabilities can be expressed as a number between 0 and 1 (percentage, essentially). However, I'm pretty sure this guy doesn't know this, and even if he did, he generally shows how much he fails at maths with his third sentence.

Just wow.
QUOTE: we have actually become much dumber as time as gone on
Speak for yourself. Oh wait, by "we" you meant yourself and fellow fundies.
1st comment: Hell no! It gets close to zero, but it NEVER gets all the way there. You fail math forever.
2nd comment: You don't think computers, microengineering, modern surgery and modern architecture are precise, at least compared to ancient structures? You just fail period.
5.134(exp-123) is STILL a number. n(exp-50) does NOT equal 0, it's just a number that is small enough to ignore on day-to-day calculations.
The pyramids and other ancient structures are NOT as precise as you imply and these "structures" are in the main MONOLITHS - solid - no functional space inside. Just like your brain T1tan.
BTW: By comparison with the rest of the universe, our ENTIRE SOLAR SYSTEM is not even 1 part in 10(exp 100-trillion-trillion-trillion) - not even equivalent to 1 electron in a grain of sand of all the deserts if all the planets and moons on this solar system.
On that basis the chances of DNA forming are astronomically high.
we have actually become much dumber as time as gone on
Speaking for yourself, yes, "incredibally" so.
Swede
Isaac Newton: "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."
We know more today than they did at the building of the pyramids, because we have been collecting knowledge since then, people have been researching and investigating and thinking and trying and failing and trying again. Our collective knowledge is greater, but our individual intelligence is probably not that different.
You're on the wrong timeframe. For evolution, a mere couple of thousand years doesn't change much, in a species with as long gestation period as humans.
We can do things the Egyptians couldn't. They could do things we can't.

Do you want to witness an "improbable" event right now in your very own home?
Take a standard deck of 52 cards, shuffle it well and spread the cards in a line. Look at them well. Assuming an ideally random shuffle, the probability of a card sequence in this exact order is...
1 in 80658175170943878571660636856403766975289505440883277824000000000000
Really. And yet despite this very low probability, you just got that sequence. Which may be mindblowing if you haven't studied statistics or combinatorics. Of course, this is because the mathematical odds of ending up with any 52 card sequence is 100%.

We're getting dumber? Maybe fundies are (if it's even possible), but the rest of us? Not so much.
Not only do we have a plethora of modern inventions, from the car to the television to the computer, but we've somehow managed to extend our average life expectancy by decades.
I'd give you an F, but that seems much too high.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
