first of all medicine, like evolutionary science is mostly political. There are very few medicines, if any, that cure anything. Any cures that happen do so because of the body's own ability to repair itself. Care to name me a disease in the past 40 years that's been cured on a widescale basis by medicine?

Well, next time I have an asthma attack and reach for my inhaler, I'll remember that.
Seeing as how asthma is a malfunction of the body's own defenses, in which they overdefend to the point of trying to suffocate you.
Oh, and ANY BACTERIAL INFECTION.
Uh....Lesse,
Polio, Smallpox, Syphilis.
Sadly medicine has yet to find a cure for willfull ignorance.
Smallpox!
Failed you have.
OK superspaz! - diseases don't get cured - they get eradicated or they get a cure developed for them.
Many diseases have been eradicated. Far more have had a cure developed for them. Go back and live in your cave and shut the fuck up!!!
Polio, Pneumonia, Syphillis, Measles......................yes, the body has ANTIBODIES since the edge of time and only now are starting to live 100 years, care to explain why?, MEDICINE.
We have a vaccine for chicken pox now, and there wasn't one when I was a young 'un. Given that I am less than 40, plus all the rest of the evidence everyone else put up, you are the world's biggest pile of Fail and Wrong.
...But it's supersport, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.
And then we have the antibiotics. Which, oddly enough, seem to be flagrantly abused by three sets of people: factory farmers, who don't have a choice due to the extreme fragility of the battery method of raising livestock; greedy parents and compliant school authorities who want antibiotics even for viral infections; and anti-evolutionists who are oblivious to the connection between natural selection and antibiotic resistance.
certain cancers ....
Remember there was a time when people died of an infected tooth... or childbirth was the highest course of death in women (not that you fundy idiot would care)
I get it - the devil gives us illness, god gives as cures - except HIV - that's god's punishment for gay folks ....
Yeah, the plague. You know, that thing that Christians thought was punishment from god, and Christians helped spread by killing all those "satanic" cats. Medicine wins, you lose.
Not to mention all of the staph strains that are out there. The majority of them, left untreated, could lead to all kinds of complications, including death. The next time you get sick you should thank God for the medicines that heal you and the person who discovered them.
people stopped getting mumps, measles, and even chickenpox today....smallpox is also gone, and because I am allergic to penicillin, there are many alternative antibiotics i can take to cure any bacterial sickness such as strep throat you dumbass, but yeah I mean medicine is pure bull
Strange, when I caught psitticosis (parrot fever) I went from being unable to mmove to back on my feet within a few hours.
When I was young, knowing a kid who had braces wasn't referring to their teeth.
Small pox, polio, measles, rubella, mumps, whooping cough, diphtheria, pertussis, if fundie fuqwads of all factions don't stop the vaccinations.
Huh.
Well, looking myself over, I note that I am
A. Alive
B. Not missing any limbs
C. Intellectually all there.
And I had Spinal Meningitis when I was 2.
Your odd choice of the 40 year limit inevitably draws my attention as to what happened 41 years ago. It's not even a round number like 50.
Supersport, please know what you're talking about. You have no idea how idiotic you sound, do you?
All bacteria diseases for instance.
Do you know how bad it was before antibiotics?
Ever heard of the Black Death that plagued Europe for countless years and killed countless people?
It is true, though, that sometimes medication is overused and that pharmaceutical corporations have really twisted morals (if they have any at all), but medicine shouldn't be underestimated either.
It is also true, that the organisms' healing ability is very underestimated and that sometimes medication is indiscriminately prescribed.
I vote not very fundie, just sort of ignorant.
I dunno about ‘cure,’ but i can sure tell if i for some reason skip an insulin shot.
Or my gout medication.
Or my glaucoma drops.
You know, there are a LOT of meds that are not for cures. I cannot imagine what my surgery to reattach my retina might have been like without anasthetic.
Confused?
