But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Why is it you people know nothing of this book you all hold in such high regard?

Correlation does not equal causation. I'm sure there were many things we had or did back then that we no longer have or do. That by itself isn't enough to connect them to current events.

I strongly suspect you'd see no difference. Your experiment is flawed a number of ways anyway. First, you must show your god exists; second you have left yourself easy outs. If nothing bad happens then god is "protecting" you; if bad things happen then you didn't pray hard enough or the right way or long enough or some other bullshit.
Religion is good at setting itself up in no lose situations. That's how it's kept going for so long.
