If someone wrote the bible today then all that happened in the bible would have had to be transported to today's time. Otherwise there would be no point. All the original manuscripts have been lost. If someone were to now claim to be the son of God, he would be either THE anti christ or an anti christ. Jesus is not going to be reborn, only buddhists and hindus believe in reincarnation. When Christ comes back it will not be to bring peace, but a sword. God is greatly offended by the evils and sins of the world today. They are worse than even the time of Noah and the ark. Knowing that, can you imagine how God will chastise the world this time? It won't be with water, but with fire. Be prepared everyone to face your faults and your judgment. I fear the great chastisement may be coming in my lifetime.

Thanks for the warning. I'll be sure to keep my guns loaded and my Bowie knives oiled.
Too bad that wasn't what the question asked.
Take a couple courses in reading comprehension, then try again.
The question was: "If the Bible was written by someone recently, instead of 1000s of years ago, would you believe it?"
She responds: "blah blah blah, the end is nigh".
I applaud your ability to dodge questions, madame.
"God is greatly offended by the evils and sins of the world today."
What "evils and sins" are you talking about? I wouldn't be surprised if you meant masturbation, playing World of Warcraft and reading novels about Harry Potter.
I like the original question because it's actually a really good one so I'm going to answer it here since I don't have a Yahoo Answers account and don't see the need to make one.
To answer it I probably would be less inclined to believe the Bible if it took place today instead of 2,000 years ago. I'm hoping you just mean the New Testatment.
Here's why. A lot of what we know about the ancient past comes from myths and legends, and usually stories are passed down orally for hundreds of generations before they are written down. We know for a fact that the earliest of the Gospels was written nearly 50 years after Jesus died. But if someone today had a book about a guy who did all these fucking miracles and then died and saved all of mankind I would have to ask why haven't I heard of this before? In this age of the Internet, blogging, and lightning quick information, why haven't I heard of this. Surely someone who cured leprosy and feed a hundred people with a loaf of bread and fish would be all over the news. But if his exploits were only chronicled in one book, and no other source of information even mentioned him, I would chalk it up with fiction, and the author(s) as con artists. Pretty bad ones.
On to the other question. What would happen if someone claimed to be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ? The destruction of the human race. I'm serious, this would be the most divisive thing to ever happen in history. Half of the Christians would declare him the second coming of Christ, the other half would denounce him as the Anti-Christ. The Muslim world would throw a fit and probably unite in order to fight this new guy. And then I don't know what would happen to the atheists, I guess we would all sit on the side calling "Prove it!"

No one would believe someone claiming to be christ reincarnated, because everyone has their own warped view of religion and they would find something about him that didn't fit their view of religion. Much like south park where they actually have jesus and all the religous people throw him in jail saying he's an enemy of christianity.
I would say if it were true, a real reincarnation of Jesus wouldn't ever claim to be that himself. He'd let everyone else make the assumption for him so they would believe it. The same could be said for the anti-christ, let people assume he's Jesus that is heh.
If the bible were written today, the 2nd Act would be about Jesus, the lead in a band called "Son 'A' God."
He'd be on tour. With groupies.
Know what? Might as well write about a Messiah today who was killed for our sins in 1960.
Because that's what your Jesus is, a story of a man-God killed for the sins of mankind written 50 to 90 years afterwards. Other books are older but so vauge it may well be John Lennon, Timothy Leary or in the deeper demented minds Ronald Reagan. But wait! There are still people alive today who knew of all three so we'd definately be safer to use people who were active and died in the sixties too.
Well that sent me on a search, n' guess what: Goggle 'Celebrity deaths in the sixties and see how many you know much about. I'm 57 and I know little of many and, oddly enough only one we know something about in their childhood, Judy Garland.
Here's others:
Ernie Kovacs
Marilyn Monroe (the candle burned out long before, the legend never did, hmmm, messiahish that. too bad she's a girl eh?)
Patsy Cline
Alan Ladd
Nat King Cole
Malcolm X
Lenny Bruce
Brian Jones
All proper legends mostly because we know little of their birth, infancy or youth, just like, hmmm, Who was that guy again who was rumoured to be really famous in later life and became legend in death?
All the above in some way.
Confused?
