Christians created America to be fair and just according to God's Law which states we are all alike in His eyes. Will you substitute evolutionary standards (the strong survive and the weak die) in place of God's standards ? And who decides which standards? How do they decide? Does the victory go to whoever has the most votes? The most guns? The most lawyers? How do you know they have the correct morality? The right ethics?
The point is, a fair and just society without Christianity is a pipe dream. It'll never happen.

Hate to break it to you, Sparky, but America is hardly a shining example of fair and just.
Also, you might wanna check the Constitution's provision that slaves count as 3/5 of a person sometimes, but as not a person other times. Is that reflective of "we are all alike in His eyes"? Or is this "some are more alike than others."
"Might is right" is social Darwinism, which is so far divorced from actual Darwinian evolution that Darwin himself condemned it. It is typical the doctrine of Christians who are trying to balance their perception of injustices committed by their deity with their insistence that the same deity is loving.
Read an actual history book Mikey. We were NOT founded by Christians for Christians.
America was created as a secular nation, with secular laws.
Want to live in a religious nation? Try somewhere in the Middle East.

I must admit, I am excited at the thought of proving you wrong. Do speed up the process by arranging a mass exodus to some uninhabited place, won't you? The 'exodus' planned for North Carolina didn't pan out, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get your own group moving toward a place with fewer people. It will be good for you, because you won't have to be around people different from yourselves. It will be good for the rest of us because we won't have to be around you .
Win/win. Everybody will be happy.
I choose to live under the Constitution rather than the bible. It's not perfect but it's the best form of government we have, and far better than a Christian theocracy.
And America has hardly been fair and just, at least not to anyone who wasn't a rich white male Christian.
"The point is, a fair and just society without Christianity is a pipe dream. It'll never happen."
Someone has some explaining to do then about why it is that the most secular countries with the least religious populations do better in nearly every metric.
"And who decides which standards?"
Apparently, as far as you're concerned, Christians get to decide.
"How do you know they have the correct morality? The right ethics?"
I'll throw your own questions right back at you, because they're excellent ones worthy of consideration. Please explain your position without using circular logic. "God tells me" is not a valid response.
"Christians created America..."
Failure in three words.
"...God's Law which states we are all alike in His eyes."
God's law allows slavery, and treats women as property. Why should we hold it as good? And why should we care what your god's standards are? You have yet to prove that he exists.
"The point is, a fair and just society without Christianity is a pipe dream. It'll never happen."
Fixed that for you.
"Christians created America to be fair and just according to God's Law"
So according to you, we can put to death all people that wear mixed fabrics, trim their hair and beard, work on the sabbath, talked back to their parents, have been remarried after being divorced, and weren't virgins on their wedding night?
That's god's law you know. It's right there in that book that you beat everyone else over the head with...
"the strong survive and the weak die"
Oh no, see, there's been a misunderstanding. The core of evolution is that the fittest animal is more likely to pass on their genes. And I don't mean physically fittest, I mean whoever's fittest for their environment. I don't know why I'm bothering, you're obviously delusional.
The main reason why America has struggled with justice and fairness is because of people like you: short sighted bigots who think that if they shut their eyes, the world will stay favorable to them. America has always looked to embrace the idea that your work proves your worth. If Christianity really is worthy, than it is far past time for it's followers to stop being such petulant children and actually work towards improving the state. Either you show us positive results, or you stay out of government.
"The point is, a fair and just society without Christianity is a pipe dream. It'll never happen."
I suppose the Greeks, Egyptians, Iroquois, Phoenicians, Romans, Apache, Chinese, Navajo, Persians and Japanese among many others are in for a really big surprise then.
A fair and just society WITH christianity isn't doing so well, is it? Christianity, like all religions, may (or may not) do some good for those WITHIN the circle of believers, but cannot handle the ones who are outsiders. They cannot, therefore, constitute a free and just society, as being told what to believe is the polar opposite of the concept of free speech.
Well considering the first amendment and Treaty of Tripoli make us secular you have no argument
Considering how many times justice failed, we are far from just. You have no argument

See: A hell of a lot of societies before 0 CE.
Does the victory go to whoever has the most votes? The most guns? The most lawyers?
From someone supporting a website that:
* attacks SCOTUS for "not obeying the people's will" in voting against same-sex marriage;
* views any kind of gun control as treacherous and satanic;
* does not hesitate to litigate against its enemies;
...all that seems a bit rich.
"Christians created America to be fair and just according to God's Law"
Looks about right.
Of course, that's a very low bar.
"Christians created America to be fair and just according to God's Law which states we are all alike in His eyes"
"all alike"? Bullshit. Unless you're homosexual or believe differently... And you want to know about "fair and just", ask the Native Americans, see how "fair and just" they think it was.
" How do you know they have the correct morality? The right ethics?"
Hey, hey, hey, stop right there. It's you lot that are constantly babbling on about how it is only Christians that have the correct morality and ethical outlook, whilst you ask atheists where they get their morals from. It's you guys that have decided that only they are the moral arbiters in our societies.
Christians created America to be fair and just according to God's Law
No, they didn't and no, they weren't.
Oh sweet! I actually have a comic that's appropriate here!

Forgive me, I don't get to do this very often.
Confused?
