[Answering a question about a woman who has an abusive husband, emphasis mine]
The Scripture makes it very clear how God feels about divorce, He hates it. It is an Old Testament passage, but God has not changed his mind. He still hates divorce. It is not His will, it wasn't so from the beginning, and it is not so today. There have been occasions, both in Scripture and in our ministry, where a man was so vile that God has killed him. A woman can come to God asking Him to deliver her from a man if he will not repent , but a woman should be sure she has obeyed God in her relationship to her husband, before she asks such a thing.

....also, who taught you to use the internet. You should be far to busy cooking, cleaning, rasing your children, and acting as a conduit for his sexual release to trouble yourself with such trivial things as abuse. Praise the lord for his gift of holy matrimony!!
/sarcasm over
She should leave the S.O.B. immediately if not sooner. If God hates it so much, she WON'T BE ABLE TO DO IT! Answer THAT, O "Pearl" of wisdom! As for divorce, there's many a clergyman who would disagree with you, but it's enough to get away from the bastard first.
I find it very difficult to believe that this ... thing is actually female. I keep getting this image of a BroRandy clone in my head every time I read something it's written.
I really, really hope I'm right.
But I suspect I'm wrong, and it is genuine. In which case, on behalf of all the Women (not 'ladies', not doormats, not wimpy, pig-ignorant little fundie drones) in the world, I'd like to say - this is nothing to do with us . We disclaim it. It is an abomination. It is a complete waste of oxygen. And personally I'd not give a damn if it fell under a bus in the next half an hour.
In a rational society, this obviously deranged woman would be being cared for in a mental hospital, not left free to ruin the lives of the gullible.
This is assuming these vile testaments aren't just made up anyway. Sheesh!
A woman can come to God asking Him to deliver her from a man if he will not repent...
Give the imaginary bearded wonder one week to accomplish this.
After that, you know how the saying goes...god helps those who help themselves.
He hates it. It is an Old Testament passage, but God has not changed his mind.
Fair enough. As long as we're following the Old Testament, when are you going to talk about the evils of working on the Sabbath, or the unholy crime of touching anything that a menstruating woman has touched, or the ever-popular issue of handicapped individuals approaching the altar, etc...
"The Scripture makes it very clear how God feels about divorce, He hates it. It is an Old Testament passage, but God has not changed his mind."
Ah, you must be talking about Deuteronomy 24:1 :
"If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, "
Yep, sure sounds like a prohibition to me. </sarcasm>
Yay, my first submission!.
Debi's answer makes me think of this quote from the Simpsons:
Marge:You can't ask god to kill someone!
Homer:Yeah! You do your own dirty work!
so, you think it's better to have your husband killed? Wouldn't divorce be so much more ...... legal?
That reminds me of the guy who was quoted a while ago, the one who said it's women's on fault when their husband kill them, it's them who always start arguments and stuff.
I can not believe that people like this and me are considered the same species!
I despise women like you. I hate you so much that it honestly makes me just about shake with absolute fury. If anyone fucking abuses me, I am dumping his ass right then and there. And if he tries to beat me, whether to death or to a state where I need intensive care, I will fucking kill him before he can.
It is my right as a human being , you worthless piece of shit, to protect myself from harm by whatever means necessary.
Divorce is not the most extreme reaction to abuse. It's the most logical.
@ Jake Steel:
Not a sock puppet. She's published a book detailing how to be a good little slave -- excuse me, "help meet".
...
but a woman should be sure she has obeyed God in her relationship to her husband, before she asks such a thing
Why does this part fill me with rage?
Anyhow, I kinda expected this from the woman who wrote a manual on how to be a good little Stepford Wife.
So, if I ask God to kill my no-good rotten husband, he'll take care of it for me? Instead of God the Father, he's Godfather?
I think she typed that with a gun pointed to the back of her head to be honest. "Okay, honey, I told them, now can you move the gun away?"
Get in the kitchen and make me a sandwich!
Also, I'm pretty certian god is not going to hate anyone for getting out of a abusive relationship.
So, it's bad to divorce a guy with help from the courts, but it's OK to kill him with help from god, even though the end result is worse and you are the one initiating it in both cases? WTF?
Confused?
