You might enjoy the first couple days but then you're going to realize that happiness is all you've got to look forward to, for ever. And it's going to be the wrong sort of happiness. It's going to be the type of happiness where not only you get to enjoy things but other ghosts too will have happiness. Strange ghosts, ghosts you've never met, ghosts from other states and cults and tribes.
Just think, all the things you currently enjoy, things like racism, hatred, bigotry, a longing for death, all those will be taken from you, until, very soon, you'll be at your wits end. What does Oprah have to do with Barack or Michelle Obama? What does it matter whether Michelle Obama is evil or not? Her main job is to smile and wave beside her husband.
Why these three? How about Sam Jackson, Morgan Freeman and Michael Clarke Duncan? Or Jada Pinkett Smith, Beyonce and Danielle Tabor?
And I find something vaguely off-putting about the fact that all of those people are African-Americans. Surely there's at least one evil white person, or Latino, or Asian person you can add to that list?
And just now I turned on the TV to hear from someone named Michelle (last name escapes, sadly) say (more or less), "I said I suspected Obama had anti-American views. Now I look like Nostradamus." She also happens to be a Republican. I have no fucking clue what brought it on, but she and Sandy might get along marvelously.
