I agree with the whole business of letting people believe what they want to believe, but when slimy thugs abuse that to con good people out of their money... Someone really needs to step in and do something. Expose these frauds for what they really are.

Titheing, Planned Giving, Charities etc., all run by churches. Where do they get their monies from? And what about the appeals on TV to send money?

Pot, meet Kettle. The only difference is that the churches do it on a vast scale. Plus they are tax exempt, which psychics are not.
My Irony Meter has just gone into a fast decaying orbit. I hope when it makes re-entry it falls on some fundie church.
Twenty bucks to a psychic who'll make you feel good for a moment is a bargain compared to tithing for life (plus money for "special projects," plus donations to "family" groups, plus...) for an organzation whose entire goal is to make you feel bad.
wonder how many folks have given their life savings to some of these frauds. Tent revivals seem to be everywhere down here right now and I think about the grocery/medicine money being tossed in the hat.

Here in France the Church of Scientology is in the legal shithouse over claims of alleged fraud. If found against in court, a possible judgement is that it will be completely banned as a sect. France doesn't like sects. And btw, France also insists on absolute separation of the civil powers from any and all religions.
Good idea, let's outlaw televangelists. Nobody I have ever seen is a bigger money grub than Joyce Meyers, even some of my fundie friends who went to see her in person were offended by her constant shilling for money.
