Of course we could be wrong but I have a strong sense of foreboding involving the DNC or the end of the Olympics. It just seems improbable (for some strange reason) that we will actually have a presidential election. Isn't that a weird feeling?

You people have a strong sense of foreboding about everything. I mean, you guys can't even check your mail without running back inside and posting "OMG the sunlight is BRIGHTER! Maybe JESUS IS COMING!?!?" You're funny, though, so stay crazy.
I have that same foreboding, you know? I wake up every morning in a cold sweat because I have this recurring nightmare that we're not going to get to vote this November because the government declares martial law in late October and suspends elections.
It is of little comfort to me that they'd have to do it over George Bush's dead body, seeing as it seems the very last thing he wants to be is president.

I'd love to go back and trace the comments of individual RR posters as they say year after year that the rapture will certainly happen in the next couple of months. I wonder if they ever go back and read their own posts and reflect on their own certainty that the end would come 3,4,5 years ago?
Deja Vu. I remember the conspiracy nuts predicting that Clinton was going to suspend the Constitution at the end of his second term and declare Martial Law, where he would be president in perpetuity.
I'd almost go along with it this time, though for a different reason: Dubya doesn't seem to give much of a sh*t for our American system of government.

Which Olympics are we talking about? Nothing much happened in 2008, so it must be this one, in London, or the next one in Rio, or perhaps the one after the one after that...
You did have a presidential election, and it worked better than the one eight years before that. At least the will of the people prevailed a bit more than the will of the rich conglomerates who want to buy the election.
