I can barely understand the hype of all this [regarding the LHC]! If humans are living in a certain number of dimensions, ie sight, smell, touch, taste, hearing, then does this mean that we will entering into a whole different dimesion beyond our wildest dreams?

If humans are living in a certain number of dimensions, ie sight, smell, touch, taste, hearing...
Those aren't dimensions; they're senses. Dimensions are height, length, and width. The LHC super collider is meant to probe for evidence regarding superstring theory. If superstring theory is true, then particles produced during collisions will be seen to enter one or more of the hypothesised 11 dimensions (10 spatial and 1 temporal).
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.
You make the founding fathers cry.
In fairness to (some of) RR, another poster did present a not-too-bad clarification. It wasn't entirely accurate, but still...
They said that the LHC might illuminate a 4th dimension - well that one's time (kind of) and the ones they are looking for are the string theory ones (10 or maybe 11 including the usual 3).
The usual crap about playing god etc, but at least some of them are reading wikipedia, not conservapedia!
*knocks on your forehead* Sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing aren't 'dimensions'. They're 'senses'.
How about you sidle away from LHC an try LSD, of the ergot variety.
Admitedly this fundie doesn't understand dimensions and should be pulled up for that alone.
But --- hands up all those who DO understand 10 dimensional gravitational theory and super-string theory. I've got a degree in Physics and I still struggle to get my head around it all.
Once we again, we meet someone who thinks that senses are dimensions...
The Twilight Zone did NOT mean that sight, sound, and mind were actual dimensions, and even then...dumb.
You are about to enter another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop, the Twilight Zone!
Sorry, I just had to do it.
Can't believe that, when someone tries to explain it to them, they actually brag and seem proud of their lack of knowledge about it, as well as obstinacy to learn more.
I used to inhabit the taste dimension (mmmmm, I liked the taste dimenson) until one day when I ate some bad Tex-Mex, farted and was immediately transported to the smell dimension.
And, brother, it really sucks here.
I'm sorry, but I fail to see how the "senses==dimensions" thing is at all related to any religion.
This isn't fundie, it's just plain retarded.
Heh...
'Prepare to meet your Moosey fate!'
It scares me... that these people... are actually able to breed. And homeschool their children, ohmy.
Jec, Sight, smell,.. could be seen as dimensions in a consiousness sense (well, sort of).
LHC works with the spacetime ones.
Bit different.
Plenty of drugs around that'll do it though.
shurely shome mishtake?
poe?
Sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing are SENSES not dimensions.
Sight you don't need because you look at the world with your eyes shut in any case.
Smell, my curried farts would make a skunk vomit and I wish I could digitise it to send to RR.
Touch - RR is "touched" already.
Taste - you are so filled eith bitterness and hatred of all who do not share your belief, that a barrel of salt would taste as sugar by comparison.
Hearing you don't need either as you never listen to anyone but yourselves anyway.
And before you go on your RUPTURE, please clean up the mess you've left behind fist.
Buddhism is good for your time-shared moments of heaven (Enlightenment) needs.
PS: If I offended Buddhists, I didn't mean to.
Yes, that's exactly what would happen.
Beyond the LHC is another dimension - a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. We'll be moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. A dimension where attractive patients are considered ugly by the pig-faced doctors; where the kid from Lost in Space wishes people into the cornfield; where dolls are killers, there's enough time to read all the books in the world, and nobody will help you because you're Hitler.
It's also a twilighty zone where your nonsense and logic crimes are punished by long prison sentences on distant ice-planets. Oh, how I wish I lived there.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
