"primitive" and "unevolved" are very difficult words to even define, as regards societies. they really don't mean much, and should be avoided for that reason.
societies that subjugate women can, however, justifiably be said to be unjust, inequal, and tyrannous. all of which are bad things and should definitely be avoided.

However, you're probably right; with human rights for women too, men can't just sit around all day talking while letting the women do all the work, and they won't be able to force women to fill their private parts with sand to remove that icky lubricated feeling during sex that means the woman might be enjoying it too, plus they won't be allowed to remove (aka kill) any female who doesn't behave the way they want her to. The fabric of their society will indeed be destroyed!

There is no such thing as a "primitive" or "unevolved" nation. The sort of societies JironGhrad might have in mind are societies which run somewhat differently from ours, but they are still complex and have still evolved.
Such societies often seem to involve men sitting around all day drinking beer, coffee or tea - depending on location - while their women work in the fields, the kitchen and the markets. In which case, the destruction of the fabric of such societies might not be such a bad thing. As the Albanian poet AZ Çajupi put it:

So what's the point? Any kind of emancipatory movement - may it be gender, race, sexual orientation or the equality among nations - without knowing it will automatically lead to a loss of identity, will lead to a loss of identity. Because the very thing that makes the identity - the difference - becomes irrelevant, and therefor the identity becomes irrelevant. So, yes, the old fabric is destroyed, purged even, but as human nature has it, we will establish a new identity and, with that, a new fabric - which, depending on your view of history, will either be better or hold the same worth. So: destroy and build something better.

You say "subjugate" like it's an alleged thing. There are places where a woman cannot go out unaccompanied. Or if she gets raped, she is blamed, and...assuming she survives....is punished. I heard a story of a man who had his wife walking ten step ahead of him at all times, to act as a human landmine detonator.
