Why does it seem that the only book science tries to refute is the bible?
Not the vedas not any other book on this earth from thousands of years ago. It only tries to refute the bible, why is this?
Additional Details
well, science it trying to discover the origin of things, and the bible already had dibs on that.

The bible never said how all that stuff happened. That's what science is finding out.
It turns out, it takes billions of years for "god" to make people from dirt, for instance.
Doesn't the Koran talk about the origins of the universe too?
And I mostly try to refute the bible because a) I know more about the bible then other holy texts and b) I have to deal with Christian idiots a lot more then other religious idiots.
If the vedas say that some thousand years ago the earth and all that exists on it was created by a divine entity, then it will also be refuted by science.
The christian paranoia is always astonishing, science doesn´t try to refute the bible, but if an account in the bible contradicts scientific observation it is clear that it will get refuted by science ;)
Word of the day: "fucktardiness"-adj. of unknown origin: of or relating to a fucktard, i.e., a fundamentalist christian who's ignorance and bigotry convinces him/her that they are correct on all things regardless of what reason and logic show to be reality
Science does not try to refute the bible, or any other religious text. Science simply searches for truth. If religious texts happen to conflict with the findings of science, that's because they were bullshit to begin with. Reality doesn't care either way.
Because no-one other than Xtians (and muslims) tries to claim that their creation myth is scientifically-sound.
Hence, no need of scientific rebuttal.

Because the Hindi aren't setting up camps training children to bullshit for Jesus. They aren't trying to vote Palin in based solely on her religion either.
The f**kton of science text I own and have read over the years substantially refute your claim seeing as not a single tries to refute the Bible or anyother religious text. I tend to think your argument is from ignorance!
As for origins I think we can safetly assume your Bibliodolatry is just that!
Yup, stupid vedic beliefs do turn up from time to time...
"Every body of mass has gravity ullu.... So why doesn't everything merge into one object? Why isn't the universe collapsing onto itself? Have you heard of strepulsion force? It comes from the Vedas and is now widely accepted scientific fact."

"The Vedic account of our planetary system is already researched, concluded, and perfect. The Vedas state that the moon is 800,000 miles farther from the earth than the sun."

Also, you might read "Prophets Facing Backward: Postmodern Critiques of Science and Hindu Nationalism in India" by Meera Nanda, where she quite thoroughly documents the political/ideological endorsement of "vedic science" over "western science" in schools and colleges.
Lysenko would be proud.
Because fundies are always parroting that science is driving us away from the non-existant sky-daddy, quoting "facts" which are not facts at all and immediately demonise every discovery made.
At least in the Vedas nobody makes any pretentions, in fact a workable motor has been built from the descriptions given therein.
The bible was concocted by a bunch of bronze age goat sodomisers with stone age intellects.
Because no other book is professed to hold all answers.
Does science really try to refute the Bible, though? Isn't it more like science is minding its own business researching things, and time and time again their findings refute the myths and stories written by ignorant (by today's standard) ancient goat herders?
“Why does it seem that the only book science tries to refute is the bible?”
How many fictional or mythical books are brought up in science discussion in the first place?
“Not the vedas not any other book on this earth from thousands of years ago. It only tries to refute the bible, why is this?”
Science tends NOT to seek out books to refute. YOU guys keep saying that a book of fairy tales is a reason to reject evolution, feminism, gay rights, climate change, age of teh Earth, and so on.
"well, science it trying to discover the origin of things, and the bible already had dibs on that.”
And right there is you bringing the Bible up in a science topic. bring up the Koran, see what happens.
Confused?
