I too have an interesting relationship, not with Jesus but with His Dad. And this is what Jesus's Dad, God, said to me the other day. "You know Godmouth", He always calls me Godmouth, it's not that He's arrogant or presumptive, it's just that He's, well, you know, God. Anyway, He continued His discourse, "I'm getting a little concerned at what looks to me to be a tiny element of denial on the part of some of my most fundamental cultist worshipers. I mean they do worship me religiously don't they? I do let them have, shall we say, certain tax incentives. They might well have a relationship with my Son, but don't they acknowledge me as His Father and give me all the praise I so rightfully deserve. I mean to say, I am their chief God after all aren't I?. Don't I dwell continuously in their churches? Dear Me, the things I put up with for that ungrateful bunch of ninnies. Don't I give them my blessings and fulfill their desires, such as giving them copious stupidity, submissive women, and a glorious gullibility whereby they may view the world with invisible-tinted spectacles, as it were?"
By now, God's was starting to rumble ominously and I knew it wouldn't be long before He started thundering.
"But to deny that they're not religious, well that's too much, it's an affront to my dignity as the head of their, well, religion. I tell you frankly Godmouth, I'm beginning to feel a touch peeved about this, what would you call it, an attempted spin on their position regarding my position. I tell you Godmouth, heads will roll, plagues will fester, boils will bubble and, just possibly, a bit of localized flooding might not be too amiss."
So as you can tell, God, as the head of your religion, takes a dim view of you not respecting it for what it is, a religion based on faith in His supremity, and while not actively discouraging your relationship with His Son, does require a greater acknowledgment of His part as His Son's Dad. Interpret this as you will, but, in any case, blessings be upon you Buzzardhut.
