The Scientific Method:
Pose a question.
Observe related phenomenon and record findings over extended period while noting any variations.
Recreate conditions of phenomenon artificially in controlled environment to test consistency of previous observations.
Alter variables of experiments to narrow down specific cause and effect, recording each change and it's results.
Compare notes with others who have done the same. Draw final logical conclusion from combined efforts.
Continue asking questions and recording data as new facts are uncovered. Review and revise previous information to account for possibility of error.

Strange, I don't see sacred cow or divine asspull anywhere in this guideline.

The Faith Method
Read single text written as infallible absolute truth.
Don't ask questions, it's all just true.
Stop asking questions, fuck everyone who asks questions.
The book is true, therefore deviation in physical reality is a lie.
...
All 'logic' concerned with this line of thought is entirely dependant on the pre-supposition of truth in a single text, and rejection of data contrary to the supposition. I.E. refusing to acknowledge Earth is not center of the universe and orbits the sun. Believing there are talking snakes without evidence besides the book. If some idiot is applying the faith method to their school textbook then they can't really call themselves legitimate researchers or even scientific.
