Shit! If we had known this earlier we could have just bypassed the courts. In fact, lets just bypass the courts altogether and just ask "what would god do?"..you know, like a rebellious child...god says that they get stoned...with real stones..until their dead. Justice would be so easy.
Was it not Jesus who said, "let he who is without electrons activate the electric chair"?
I think RedBall's quote is just a typo. Instead of "God", she meant to type "Pilate".
Either that or that whole crucifixtion scene wasn't intended as tragedy, but rather as an informative how-to manual. Jesus was meant to die not for our sins, but to marginally increase the proficiency of our executioners.
Death penalty supporters should be required to put their name on a list when they vote in favour. When a mistake happens, and it inevitably will, three names will be picked from the list and those supporters summarily executed. No arguments.
Let them put their neck where their mouth is.
So, if it's found that the mistake actully wasn't a mistake, and the guy was guilty after all, we kill nine further pro-CPers?
"That which you do to the least of my children, you do to me." -Jesus
Not that fundamentalists would ever concern themselves with the words of Jesus.
And as soon as God un-kills someone once evidence is brought to light that they're innocent, I'll be on board, too. No...wait, I won't because even then, it causes someone already desperate to escape to literally fight for their life, and endanger other lives. That and it's little more than vengeance, and resolves nothing.

Err... God's other son, Ched, runs a nation-wide chain of private mortuaries with overpriced designer caskets?
My conclusion is that your God is old-fashioned and vengeful.
No modern first-world democracy supports the death penalty. Oh, except the US of A...
Confused?
