“Atheism is a religion that contains several fanatical leaders"
Weird, then, that I don’t follow anyone in my atheism.
I don’t worship atheism, either.
I just don’t believe in any gods, and don’t belong to any religions.
Sounds like you’re just stupid.
“such as David Bedford (self ascribed messiah),”
Never heard of him.
“Richard Dawkins (Who wants to de-religionalize the world),”
Okay, heard of him. NEver read him.
“and Sam Harris (believes in "good" torture of muslims).”
Doesn’t ring a bell, and I don’t support torture.
Which is why i can’t accept Hell, incidentally.
“If you read what these nuts wroite, you can see the hypocrisy they preach and the lunacy of atheism.”
Okay. But if everything you read about atheism tells you the same thing, maybe the problem is you?
"Its like the rise of the thid reich all over again. Atheism is a religion, it requires just as much faith to not believe in a CREATOR and believe in "other" explanations as it does to believe.”
I keep hearing that.
I don’t believe it at all.
Too many theists, when their statements are challenged, just use God as a cop-out. I mean, they start with ‘why do we exist?’ and use god as the justification. But when they can’t justify something by their own logic, they then say, ‘but we can’t understand god’s ways.’
So, really, I can’t see that the amount of effort required validates or invalidates a belief, and I certainly can’t see for sure that you measurably require less effort than I do.
“To all those atheists who believe that religion in one's life hinders your intelligence, well I just have to suggest to them to research all of the scientific breakthroughs in the world by people who believe.”
I don’t think that religion hinders intelligence.
However, it has been shown that con men presenting themselves as believers tend to rob believers blind. Not because they’re stupid, but because religion does tend to make you NOT USE your intelligence critically. Cons no one would fall for work if the believer is and the conman pretends to be Faithful.
“To start with, look up the leader of the human genome project.”
I could give a fuck what he believes on his own time. But i suspect he doesn’t present god in his research, does he?
He’d get crucified in peer review if he used ‘goddidit’ professionally. So his religion doesn’t really fucking matter.
I would worry more that ’researchers’ for Answers in Genesis sign a paper swearing they won’t publish results that conflict with a literal reading of Genesis. Which means we can’t really know what the results were, just waht they are allowed to reveal…
