[Talking about evolution of eye]
Just think about this, id evolution was correct, then why even create eyes at all? I mean think about it, what initially decided that eyes were so great? Srsly. Did the goop we all came from all of a sudden just go "hey, I wanna invent seeing stuff"? I mean, if initially nothing had eyes, why decide it needed eyes in the first place? Why dont we just feel stuff like trees and blind bats and crap?

Yea, self awareness came much, much, much later than eyes, ears, dick, etc...
It is more advantageous for creatures to detect light sources, so they can nagivagate, so the ones that can survive and procreate, and eventually natural selection creates - oh, why am I even bothering to explain this?
Darth,
Because a part of you holds out hope that some day, a fundie will actually learn evolution, and he'll/she'll spread the knowledge to others, who will teach others and so on. Then one day, we'll realize we won't have to hear this crap ever again.
Ah, what a dream that is!

Darth, if you read that thread, you'll notice constant claims that 'eye is perfect' and any change in it would cause dead to it's owner, because obiviously it will be inferior change.
Also, repeated questions of where are the bodies of trillions animals who have died because their eyes didn't work.
Calvin: Heck, I don't know anything about bats! How am I supposed to write a report on a subject I know nothing about?! It's impossible!
Hobbes: I suppose research is out of the question.
Calvin: Oh, like I'm going to learn about bats and then write a report?! Give me a break!
*Snicker* Entire class: BATS AREN'T BUGS!
I keep reading that last line as "Why don't we just feel stuff, like, trees and blind bats and crap?", and then I wonder why we should be searching so diligently for blind bats to feel... And wondering if this person has ever heard of the blind men and the elephant (probably not).
Then I realize that they mean that bats are blind and I weep for the future of humanity.
Actually, if I remember correctly, it's likely that the first "eyes" were used to find an area in which to sit and photosynthesize. It's not really an eye, of course, but Euglenas can sense light with its eyespot.
um... where's my script...
BAT'S AREN'T BLIND, DICKBREATH.
and
EVOLUTION DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY.
“Just think about this, id evolution was correct, then why even create eyes at all?"
I suppose you’re typing on a Braille screen?
“I mean think about it, what initially decided that eyes were so great?”
Nobody.
Just, one mutation made a patch on a creature’s skin sensitive to light. So they could avoid shadows, which might be predators.
They lived longer and had more kids than their competitors. So everyone had light-sensitive patches.
And on and on as described by Darwin in his book… And eventually i get shots in my eye so they’ll stop bleeding. LOVE watching that needle come down, down, down… Sure doesn’t seem like a divinely inspired system right then.
“Srsly. Did the goop we all came from all of a sudden just go "hey, I wanna invent seeing stuff"?”
No.
“I mean, if initially nothing had eyes, why decide it needed eyes in the first place?”
It didn’t decide anything. Just a random quirk that turned out to be useful.
“Why dont we just feel stuff like trees and blind bats and crap?”
Then we wouldn’t know who the incels were until they spoke.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
