If this president [Obama] is assassinated, Christians will be blamed. Much like they were blamed for the burning of Rome under Nero. This website would be shut down by the government. Christian persecution would take place on a wide scale much like it did under Nero.

It will probably be a fundamentalist christian, as you guys are afraid of everything different then you, and are gullible enough to believe he is "Barrack Allah Babykiller HUSSEIN Communist Osama" and wants to persecute you.
Everyone knows they are just waiting for a reason to kill all of you. They are armed and extremely dangerous. In order to avoid such persecution and the destruction of American Christian fundamentalism, True Believers should make an effort to ensure that President Obama remains safe and secure. This could involve, for starters, reporting people who criticize or make threats against him to the (secular) authorities. Refusing to watch and support Fox News is another effective method, since they are inciting people to risk their lives by not supporting the President.
It may not seem like much on the surface, but such simple measures can help to prevent the obliteration of Christianity in America.
Unless you are responsible for his death, in which case it isn't persecution, they likely won't do a damn thing to you. Now if you are responsible then it isn't persecution. And no you aren't persecuted now.
Well, it would happen because, most likely, like in the case of Lincoln, it would be carried out from a guy who trusts in God and claims that the South will be avenged. And he would play the martyr card.
Oh man... I'd hate to break it to everyone on there that no-one really cares about RR, and NO-ONE takes it seriously.
I mean... do they all think that their website is discussed in hushed tones and is feared or something?
The only time it is EVER discussed outside of itself is when it is mocked, ridiculed, or just plain dismissed.
They have this masturbatory fantasy that their shit actually matters on the world stage. It doesn't.
If a Christian were to assassinate the president then, yes, rightly or wrongly, Christians would probably be blamed. However, you are RR are not Christians, you're a whiny, retarded sect of death-lovers.
"If this president [Obama] is assassinated, Christians will be blamed."
Stop saying the guy is the Antichrist and how you all wish he were assassinated or visited by the Wrath of God and you wont have that problem.
"Much like they were blamed for the burning of Rome under Nero."
That was scapegoating. This would, given that you compose a large majority of the population, probably be quite accurate. The assassin would likely be Christian and a good portion of you despise the guy while the rest of you tend to sit idly by.
"This website would be shut down by the government."
No. It wouldn't.
"Christian persecution would take place on a wide scale much like it did under Nero."
Majorities can't, by definition, be persecuted.
Waaaaaaaah! Waaaaaaaaah!
We're being oppressed!
Waaaaaaaaaah!
Except in this case, it is most likely that the assassin will indeed be a fundamentalist Christian such as yourself.
Furthermore, why are talking about the assassination of Obama as though it is a) guaranteed and b) a GOOD thing?
If you haven't been persecuted for 2000 years (as you had to go back to 64 AD to find any persecution worth mentioning), then you are to be congratulated (one might even say it's your turn now). But as you are the overwhelming majority in the US, they will probably not blame each and every Christian, just the ones with persecution mania and a much talked-about hatred of the elected president.
There is one easy way to not be blamed first. Don't rant and rave about how evil he is and that he must die.
Considering that Fundamentalist Christians, just like yourself, have openly advocated the assassination of Barack Obama on the Rapture Ready bulletin board and elsewhere, it would not at all surprise me if Obama DID get assassinated by a "Christian."
If this city [New York] is attacked, Muslims will be blamed. Much like they are blamed for the continual wars in the Middle East. These lands would be invaded, ransacked and destabilised by the west. Muslim persecution would take place on a wide scale much like it during the crusades. /mirror
If this president [Obama] is assassinated, Christians will be blamed.
Considering that it's fundamentalist Christians who have been calling for his assassination, that would be a reasonable conclusion.
No one's blaming Christians who, by and large, are well adjusted and rational individuals. People are blaming fundamental cultists, there's nothing Christian about them, they're the very antithesis of Christianity. Though many lunatic cultists do cling on to Christianity's coattails for dear life.
On the subject of persecution, how's the predicted persecution of the Rapture Ready site by the President of the USA, Barack Obama, coming along?
Any news on the whoshfest?
Beautiful feet but ugly mind I presume.
Correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't the set of RR members overlap heavily with the "It's treason to criticize the President during wartime" set?
At least until November or January?
By the way, if y'all want to be persecuted so much, why don't y'all just choose to be gay? Or atheists, or Muslims, or pagans, or liberals?
It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the rampant hate speech against the President posted on a daily basis on that site, now would it? No, I forgot. Fundies (particularly of the Crapture Creep variety) have no concept of personal responsibility. It all comes back to "Christian persecution".
The government have no idea R-R exists.
And sadly, if he was assassinated it would most likely be a fundie that did it...
Ahh, the poorly veiled aggression. No doubt some of the RR nuts would love to see Obama dead, they just can't say it openly in fear of legal consequences. Instead they come with constant ideations and allusions to it.
And you just relish the thought, don't you?
@ModernBunny - Ironically, when they try to get Christianity made the state religion, they're all of a sudden the majority.
@Horsefeathers:
Majorities can't, by definition, be persecuted.
Nelson Mandela would like to have a word with you.
@Pule Thamex
"No one's blaming Christians who, by and large, are well adjusted and rational individuals."
I have a slightly different take on it: I *do* blame mainstream Christians for not taking a stand against the type of fundamentalism seen on RR, back at the inception of the right-wing fundamentalist movement in the 1920's; for not distancing themselves from such patent nonsense and for allowing the fundies to effectively become the public voice of Christianity in the US.
I agree that most Christians are decent people but to stay silent when such egregious and preposterous lies are disseminated in your name, well, I find it just a little distasteful, to say the least.
No, fundamentalist, crazy and ignorant fundie Christians will be blamed. Don't drag the Christian faith with their decent folks down the hole with you.
You can always make your persecution dream come true right in your own home! Self-flagellation with a cat-0-nine-tails will keep you happy. Afterwards be sure to don a horsehair shirt.
Well, when Kennedy was assasinated, as well as Olof Palme, nobody blamed the Christians. You know, they were not as stupid as to "preemtively" post things like that...........something to hide, dear?
If this president [Obama] is assassinated, Christians will be blamed.
Given how many of you have actually called for his assassination, I would have to say yes, you would certainly be looked at first.
This website would be shut down by the government.
Doubtful. The U.S. government recognizes the right of people to say whatever they want. If RR were shut down, they'd have to shut down every website that said something derogatory about the government, and that would be practically impossible.
Christian persecution would take place on a wide scale much like it did under Nero.
Considering that the majority of people in the U.S., including the current President and most of the members of Congress consider themselves Christian, I really don't see how this would happen.
"If this president [Obama] is assassinated, Christians will be blamed. Much like they were blamed for the burning of Rome under Nero. This website would be shut down by the government. Christian persecution would take place on a wide scale much like it did under Nero"

Rupturist on RR: 'Help help, we're being oppressed!'
Me on FSTDT: 'BLOODY PEASANT!'
If this president [Obama] is assassinated, Christians will be blamed.
No. Only a small sect of racist, fundamentalist, and extremist Christians will be blamed, if Christians are blamed at all.
And should they be, well golly gee, I wonder why. It's not as though all that diatribe about Obama being a communist, babykiller, destroyer of the free world, the Antichrist, etc. would anger and frighten the more mentally unbalanced among you into doing such a thing, now is it? image
ETA: "Beautiful Feet", wtf? Foot fetish for Jebus?
"This website would be shut down by the government"
You wish! (as do I). Whassamatter? The fact dat nasty ol' librul Obama hasn't taken down Ruptured Retards (if he actually acknowledges your sad litle webs[h]ite even exists!) has denied you of that persecution you so vitally need? Awwwwww, diddums.
"the burning of Rome under Nero"
The German software company Ahead had nothing to do with what a Roman emperor supposedly did. They make damn fine CD/DVD/BD-R creation software, and you know it!
@shykid
The beautiful feet of women look even better in high heels.
Nero was a meglomeniac. After his advisor died from an illness the new advisor incured him to indulge in his meglomaniac and sadistic streak. Before he was just an self indulging bastard who had orgies and drinking parties every day. Most of his decitions came from his advisors.
And no the Christians did not Rome and neither did Nero. Nero was not even in the city acording to ancient sources ( History of Rome podcast --> sources)
Nero blamed the Christians because he was loosing favour with the people of Rome, never mind the aristocrates. The Christians were strange lookign indulgign in a strnge cult and spoke mostly Greek or hebrew and came mostly from the lower classes, so they did not fit in with the peoples perceoption of a normal Roman.
Nero was very unpopular at that time and his decition to blame the early Christians backfired on him. There was actually a revolt staged by senators and aristocrats, but the conspiriturs were betrayed and were forced to commit suecide or were exiled.
Look it up here. A very good podcast on Roman History

Wow...the self-importance these people have...
a Southern man killed MLK. They didn't round up all the Southern men. An actor shot Lincoln; they didn't round up all the actors.
It's almost like the feds understand that the actions of one individual are not indicative of an entire group. Weird, that.
If Obama is assassinated, it will probably be a Christian that does it. Fortunately for you, nobody is stupid enough to blame the majority of the US population for the actions of one Christian, even if they might blame a minority for the actions of one.
So you think Christians as a group would be blamed without any evidence? Or trial? And what, just rounded up as a group and burned at the stake? I know that's how YOU do it...but law and order in the rational world has progressed a bit...
Unlike you fundies, sane people require extraordinary EVIDENCE before they accept an extraordinary claim. And we wouldn't just blame the entire group when it's obvious that the entire group couldn't be responsible. Although in your case...
I love how they advocate against Obama's assassination, not because...y'know...killing is bad or anything, but because OH GOODNESS, THEN THEY'LL THINK WE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT (quick, hide the guns) AND OH LORDY, THEN THEY'LL TRY AND SHUT US DOWN AND WE'LL ALL BE SO PERSECUTED.
That's funny. When the Norwegian government was bombed in 2011, Muslims were immediately blamed for it. Even before news about the murdered kids on Utøya came in, there were lots of posts on social media pointing the finger at Muslims.
But... it turned out to be a right-wing, fundamentalist Christian Norwegian. Still, no Christian persecution took place on a wide scale.
Confused?
