If you had said that they were a pagan religion, I would have agreed with you, the Meccans before them certainly were. Allah, which is Arabic for "the God", was their moon god. According to Meccan beliefs, he had 3 daughters who were considered to be goddesses: Allat, Uzza and Manat.http://alkman1.blogspot.com.au/2007/01/daughters-of-allah.html
Oh and the pagan version of Allah is no more dead or alive than any other deity people have worshipped - including Jesus Christ.

@FSTDT readers who don't know: the whole Allah(in Islam)="Moon God" comes from Robert Morey who used a discredited theory about early Islamic worship from the early 1900s to prove how "ungodly" Islam is. In fact, the Qur'an, like the other Abrahamic faiths, explicitly forbid any kind of animistic worship.
