[Who feels in ten years things will be the same?]
I think that's very possible. I also think that it is very possible that the church will be in heaven as the 70th week will be under way. If we are still here in 10 years because the rapture has not occurred yet, I think life will be very different for us than it is now. I think home schooling will be illegal in all 50 states and homsexual marriages will be the law of the land. I believe that the only churches operating "above ground" will be those that have been licensed by the state and will not be allowed to criticize other religious groups, alternative lifestyles or preach Jesus as the only Way. I believe sharing Christ will result in losing our children, confiscation of property and prison terms for the undeterred. I think it's also likely that Christians will have to wear or carry an identifier, so people will know to avoid us and employers will not hire us. I believe forced euthanasia will be the law of the land for the elderly, the mentally ill, the physically handicapped and anyone the state considers to be a "useless eater". Wild weather will become the norm and a day without a huge disaster will be a rarity.

If only.
the rest of this is bullshit.
Your lot was saying THE EXACT SAME THING when Obama got elected. His term is well passed the halfway point and none of these things have even come close to occurring. Lets face it, when it comes to political forecasting, your lot hasn't got a single success to its name.
I could make a similar comparison with your forecasting of The Rapture, but that would be petty.
You do realize, of course, that not only does just about all of this outlandish foolishness violate the First Amendment and various discrimination laws but that if it did happen it would be Christians instituting it since they are, by a wide margin, the majority in this country.
In other words, your fellow "brothers in Christ" will be the ones regulating your church, telling you what you can/can't preach from it, whether or not you can homeschool your kid, forcing you to wear an "identifier" and so forth. However, if you knew anything of your own religion this wouldn't come as a shock to you at all since Christian sects have been fucking with one another from the beginning with each believing that all others aren't "True Christians."
And the gay gestapo will keep up their 24 hour surveillance of all your activities. Anyone engaging in heterosexual behaviour or not agreeing with their agenda will be sent to re-education camps. The schools will teach state worship and you will be forced to bow down before Obama, who will have been proclaimed dictator for life. The Christians will have to wear a cross and be confined to camps, before the final solution is enacted. Finally, the communist nazi new world order globalists will destroy America and turn it into the United Gay Atheist States.
In the highly unlikely event that this happens, aren't you supposed to "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad" (Matt. 5:11-12 KJV)? I guess that when you're put on trial for practicing the forbidden religion of Christianity, you'll be acquitted.
I'm a Godless liberal. See, the thing about liberals is that we believe that although the government should not push any religion on the people, the people themselves have freedom of religion. Lots of freedoms besides those, too. It's the religious conservatives who want religion in schools and politics (their religion).
And even if gay marriage is legal, you and all other straight people (including me) will still be able to be as straight and straight married as we want.
Of jadeeyes's predictions, only the following are POSSIBLE in 10 years:
- Same-sex marriage legalized (note that this is different from banning straight marriage!)
- Extreme weather conditions resulting from global climate change.
The others are prevented by the First Amendment. Even if they weren't, popular opinion would prevent ANY of them from coming to pass any time this century. The majority of Americans are still Christian, and it will take decades for that to change by any meaningful amount.
"forced euthanasia will be the law of the land for the elderly, the mentally ill, the physically handicapped and anyone the state considers to be a "useless eater".
I see you anticipate a Republican administration.
I wonder, why do you have to project with the abuses that YOU GUYS have done throughout history to other people to express the torments you supposedly suffer or eventually will?. Come on, a little imagination.
jadeeyes hath an overinflated opinion of his cult's threat value.
Certainly his persecution fap fest indicates an unhealthy delusion.
In 10 years time, jadeeyes will ask the same question, make the same prediction, and his fellow raptards will nod in agreement gain.
Typical rapturist delusional bullshit. None of this will ever happen. You idiots always seem to forget that your religion is firmly entrenched by the majority of Americans. You are under no threat of any kind.
As for homeschooling being made illegal, my only problem with homeschooling in the States at the moment is the complete total lack of any standards. I don't have a problem with you educating your kids yourself. There are people who are smart enough to do that. Fundies however use use it as an excuse to fill their kids' heads with rubbish.
the only churches operating "above ground" will be those that have been licensed by the state
Would that not be a direct violation of the separation of church and state? I thought you fuckwits would be all for state-sanctioned religion (as long as said idiocy is indeed christianity, of course).
I believe forced euthanasia will be the law of the land for the elderly, the mentally ill, ...
This is the one, J, that you must be most concerned about.
@Horus IX
"If only you used that imagination to write movie scripts or books..."
That's actually a great idea. All the things that jadeeyes said would be great as a book, movie, manga, anime, webcomic, or graphic novel. Like an ironic, religious take on dystopian fiction, except that the persecution is against the religious instead of by the religious (that's why I call it "ironic"). That could be a really interesting novel if a talented person took a stab at it. Fundies would lap it up. And I think even non-fundies would find it interesting to see what kind of future fundies think they're looking at, described in vivid detail. I know I would read that.
@panz: they don't see it as equality (everyone having the same rights), they see it as losing privileges....
same thing, one optimistic view, one pessimistic
I hope you're right about same sex marriage. Also, you're probably right about more "wild weather" due to climate change, but you probably don't believe in CC. The rest of this is just persecution porn.
Did you get off while you wrote that? It seems to be a very lovingly created fantasy.
Also, regarding "I think it's also likely that Christians will have to wear or carry an identifier, so people will know to avoid us and employers will not hire us" perhaps you should talk to Pastor Mike.
(About 1000 christians sitting in their multi million dollar mega church listening to the pastor preach.)
Pastor: Any minute now the government and the gay gestapo are going to break in and haul us off to the camps. *fap fap fap fap
Any minute now....
*fap fap fap fap
John: Problem is, Jadeeyes likely sees most of those as "professing Christians"; Christians in name only. It would seem that as far as dispensationalists are concerned, Satanel's influence makes it IMPOSSIBLE for there to ever be a Real-True-Christian majority anyplace until the Millennium. A world without Jesus's direct rule is INHERENTLY oppressive, even if "only" a passive or unwitting oppression.
Chances of any of that persecution happening are less than zero. And if you really care about the elderly and handicapped, you should stop voting for the people who are trying to cripple the government welfare. Seriously, there are already a lot of people willing to throw everyone to the greedy whims of the free market.
*Facepalm* OK, jadeeyes, time to lay of the Jack Chick.
RR really worries me sometimes, but not in the way that they intended.
(I hope he/she's right about legalizing gay marriage, though.)
These people have COLOSSAL boners for genocide, mass death via ungodly natural disasters.
Get help for the love of christ.
And what do I Think? If we aren't going to get cheap, consumer hover technology IE Hover boards. I am going to be pissed.
1. Home schooling is a right granted to everyone, no problems there. Atheists homeschool their kids too.
2. Hopefully gay people will be able to marry in 10 years.
3. Churches licensed by the state is the exact opposite of the constitutional amendment separating church and state. We are trying to keep that from happening, you doofus.
4. You can say whatever you want at a pulpit, and nobody cares, unless you advocate hurting someone. Freedom of speech, part of that constitution thing again.
5. You already visibly identify yourself with jewelry and bumper stickers and retarded t-shirts voluntarily. The majority of this country is Christian. If you don't get hired, it's because you suck, not because of your religion.
6. We are not the ones who refuse to take care of the less fortunate in our society. We don't consider people to be 'useless eaters.' Remember taxes and welfare and all that? Yeah, that's YOU trying to starve children.
7. Huge disasters have occurred regularly since the dawn of time. In fact, one could easily argue that the dawn of time was in itself a huge natural disaster.
8. STFU!
6.
Sweden has been socialist for about 70 years. It's only in the last five years the elderly, the mentally ill and the physically handicapped have feared for their welfare. Ya know, during the years of right-wing politics.
Sure, homosexuals can marry, but the majority of marriages are still heterosexual.
There are many churches operating "above ground"; every Saturday and Sunday you can hear the church bells tolling.
No-one has to wear an identifier. Everyone can say what they want about other religious groups, lifestyles or preachings, as long as they don't threaten people.
Wild weather is already the norm, thanks to the melting glaciers, among other things.
But no, you can't home-school your kids, we have compulsory schooling between the ages 6 and 16. We think about the kids' right to an education first, before the parents' right to own their kids.
No child left behind, right?
All those social changes except homosexual marriages will not happen because they are unconstitutional. Though Republican candidates would be in favor of some of them.
"Law of the land"? If you mean in the sense that they will be legal, then yes. Which will not affect you in any way, because no one will be forcing anyone to have a homosexual marriage.
The weather is related to political change only in so far as the far-right insists on denying man-made global climate change. The policies of big businesses are the only thing that could result in the environmental changes you describe.
I thought you Rapturites wanted a Republican administration.
Also: Who the hell shot their mental spooge all over the last page? I was hoping for more comments, not someone wasting space with their useless gibbering.
@ Our Crazy Obsessive Spammer Troll:
You can't stop me Distind, and I hope you liberal atheist morons aren't assuming that this is the work of one person.
Yeah. I am assuming this is the work of one person. Because you keep on posting the exact same effing post with the exact same pictures.
We Libertarian atheists are tired of you morons shaming us, and making people assume all atheists are liberals.
Dude, we know that there are a lot of libertarian atheists out there. And I'm sure that most of them would be ashamed to be associated with you. You see, as a liberal, I certainly disagree with libertarians on a lot of things. But I also find that I agree with libertarians on a lot of things. Those libertarians that live up to their name and consider liberty to be of utmost importance have many of the same fundamental principles that I do. We typically agree on the big picture, but disagree over the details.
I have too much respect for the libertarians that I know to consider you to be a representative of libertarians.
@ Our Crazy Obsessive Spammer Troll:
Heres proof Islam is a violent religion, more so than Christianity.
No one has claimed that people haven't used Islam to justify acts of violence. No one has claimed that Islam cannot be used to support violent actions. Why do you insist on telling us this? No one here has claimed otherwise! You are attacking a straw man!
The only thing that people are going to object too here is the idea that Islam is inherently more violent than Christianity. Both religions can be used to justify terrible things. But both have some good teachings as well. It happens that Christianity is an older religion, that has had more time to develop. Christian society also underwent the Enlightenment, which was something of a mitigating factor against extremist Christianity. If the tables were turned, and Islam was older or Islamic society had gone through the Enlightenment, it could be that Christianity would seem like a much more violent religion.
@ Our Crazy Obsessive Spammer Troll:
I think we should eradicate all religions and their followers.
And I think that you are a violent moron. I can understand someone thinking that religion is a force for ill. I can understand someone who thinks that religion will become less important as more people become educated, and thus hope to eventually eradicate religion by doing things like trying to improve our education systems, or make better education accessible for more people.
But to eradicate the followers of a religion? That's different. That is outright murder. That's genocide. You are advocating that we kill most of the human beings on this planet simply because you happen to disagree with them on the existence of a god. That's disgusting. And you have the gall to refer to Islam as violent!
Especially Islam, here are some distinguished persons on Islam.
And that is an appeal to authority. But you can't even manage to pull that off without looking like an idiot. Because none of these people are saying that we should round up all Muslims and kill them!
The only thing in here that's remotely likely is gay marriage being legal across America in 10 years... and certain states (not naming names) will probably come very close to the wire. The rest is paranoid conspiracy bullshit.
@ picspammers:
Give it up, will you? Don't you realize that the more times you post pics of half-naked women like that, the more times you're gonna get blocked. And you're even using Distind's name now. Can I ask the real Distind to put a stop to this madness? They're using your name (which is hilarious as the first line of their posts is always "You can't stop me Distind.")
@ Brendan Rizzo:
The last time Our Crazy Obsessive Spammer Troll went on a spam rampage here, he (or she) apparently did all of his (or her) spamming manually. Copied and pasted and checked the "check here" box to submit his (or her) comment every time. It's harder to stop an idiot with that sort of dedication than a simple spam-bot. Presumably, Distind will get around to deleting Our Crazy Obsessive Spammer Troll's crazy, obsessive spam as soon as he gets the chance, like last time.
Man, get the fuck out of here with that porno shit, I know you are trying to shut down FSTDT or something but it ain't going to work.
BTW I'm a Muslim and I don't like your ignorance.
Hey, Jadeeyes, the paranoids are after you. There is no such thing as 'the rapture', but hold fast to your delusion, it seems to entertain you.
Well, you're right about one thing, Jadeeyes. Gay marriage will definitely be legalized nationwide. Hopefully in the next decade, although it might take longer than that.
Unless you're gay, IT DOES NOT AFFECT YOU IN ANY. FUCKING. WAY. Get that through your cement-thickened skull and into the malformed liver you audaciously call a "brain."
The rest of your post is pure bullshit.
(By the way: "forced euthanasia" is an oxymoron. If it's forced, it's murder. End of story.)
"home schooling will be illegal in all 50 states"
Well, if only!
"euthanasia for the elderly, mentally ill, and physically handicapped"
Not the worst idea in the world, if it wasn't "forced".
(@ idiotic waste of sperm who has nothing better to do than spend all day picture-spamming a site from which s/he got banned a while ago)
"You can't stop me Distind, and I hope you liberal atheist morons aren't assuming that this is the work of one person."
Okay, then. Answer me this, oh mental giant before whom we are but insects: if there's more than one of you spamming this site, why are all of you only spamming one thread at a time? You spend all day spamming this site, and all you manage is one thread in it. If I had two or three of my friends helping me spam a message board, we'd have spammed every thread in the first two or three pages by now.
Nope, sorry. Not buying it. Just like the whole question of God and religion, there's absolutely no evidence to suggest that there's any explanation other than the one shown by common sense (you ought to try getting some of that sometime, by the way): in this case, that it is , in fact, just you who's wasting your time with this pointless crusade against a site that (quite rightly) banned you from posting your bullshit in the forums. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and guess that, not only are there no friends of yours helping you do what you're doing, there are no friends of yours, period .
"I think it's also likely that Christians will have to wear or carry an identifier..."
And yet you'd also take someone being told they weren't allowed to wear a cross at work as a sign of the end times....
We Libertarian atheists are tired of you morons shaming us, and making people assume all atheists are liberals.
I actually came in after the porn was removed, but I have to ask:
How do you expect posting naked pictures to convince others that atheists can be conservative? Seriously, how does one even remotely tie into the other?
" If we are still here in 10 years because the rapture has not occurred yet, "
You're still here after 2000 years, so you do the math.
" I think it's also likely that Christians will have to wear or carry an identifier, so people will know to avoid us and employers will not hire us. I believe forced euthanasia will be the law of the land for the elderly, the mentally ill, the physically handicapped and anyone the state considers to be a "useless eater". "
Either christians will take over and weed out the useless eaters, or someone else will take over and force christians to wear an identifier. You can't have both at the same time.
"Wild weather will become the norm "
And yet fundies will still be denying global warming exists.
Worse than that, gay marriage will be REQUIRED! All straight couples will be broken up and men will be forced to fuck each other in the ass to prove citizenship. Butt sex will replace the handshake and eventually the word "hello". People will be forced to walk around naked. They're going to teach only pornography and abortion in public schools. Speaking of abortions, they will be required for every pregnancy. Carrying to term will result in the death penalty for both the mother and the offspring. The Bible will be made illegal and if you so much as happen to glance at one out of the corner of your eye you'll be beaten, tortured, and killed.
There, I helped you out. Just remember to use a towel after you're done.
Oh man, it'd be horrific if you were denied jobs and the ability to live your life like the people you'd want to "criticize".
Also, stop making homeschooling look bad. Thanks!
^^
All the more reason, seeing as over three years on there's not the least, slightest, tiniest little sign of any of the predictions coming true.
Confused?
