[In response to a news story detailing a recently-discovered Earth-like planet that may possibly have life.]
Ridiculous evolutionist fantasy. There is no other earth. Clean this one up or die.

Well, to be fair, this guy's at least saying we should take responsibility for our own environment, in his own special way. That's more than we can say for most fundies, who just use the notion, "God'll rapture all us True Christians up soon anyway so we don't need to worry about this place." Oh, and let's not forget the "Environmentalism = Nature worship" argument we hear so much.
The technology to discover such small planets around other stars is very recent. We know about a little over 200 planets in other solar systems now, but it is clear that in the next few decades countless more will be discovered (all so far have been discovered in about 15 years, and technology is greatly improving).
This guy is going to have to deny a whole lot of planets in the coming years.
Astronomy shows development and destruction to scientists that we can best explain logically. It is as brutal and uncompromising a machine as natural selection. It needs a supernatural deity as much as evolution does. I see an analogous relation but not "=".
Fundies won't be swayed by scienctific discoveries that contradict the bible even if God carved "I was not here" on a new planet's surface. Dogma supports what it needs to. "God so loves us he's giving us a second chance!"
Edit: oh, "!=" means "not equal to"
ah, sorry '_'
Clean this one up or die. A stopped clock is right twice a day.
God made the cosmos and everything in it and as there is almost definitely life on other planets, then god made that too. There’s no need to be afraid of what’s out there. Besides, if there is any kind of life on this other planet, it simple reaffirms god the creator, it only makes mincemeat out of the holy texts of this world and reveals them as the man-made books they truly are.
It looks like virtually every star in our vicinity has planets of some sort.
Most of the planets detected so far are gas giants--and the couple we've directly imaged so far were far larger than Jupiter. We've only found a handful of terrestrial worlds so far, under special conditions that allowed them to be detected with our instruments. But indications are that there's an awful lot of roughly Earth-sized rocks out there.
Some of them will be in the star's habitable sweet-spot, the place where water is liquid and there's plenty of light and heat, but not enough to sterilize the surface.
Our instruments are becoming more and more sophisticated with each passing year. We're going to find a lot more of them in the coming decades.
At least some of them are almost certainly going to have life whose signs we can detect--oxygen, the red edge, whatever.
What will you do then?
Well at least we both agree that humans should clean up the planet given how badly we've trashed it...
Also, what does evolution have to do with planetary temperature and the periodic table?
Doesn't this yoyo realize that nobody on Earth expects to live to see humans set foot on this planet, if it's ever possible?
It makes about as much sense as Nic Cage threatening a stuffed bunny.
"Evolution and astronomy are different branchs of science, if you weren't homeschooled you might know that."
Most homeschoolers, who by and large know the difference between biology and astronomy, accept evolution as good science, and have knowledge of basic logic, would be insulted to be lumped in with this shit-for-brains.
The possible (or some would say, probable) existence of other earth-like planets has nothing to do with evolution. However, the nearest one - should it exist- is completely beyond our reach at present, so at least I can whole-heartedly agree with your last sentence.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
