I'll try again: what's your point, Adam? I don't care what the bible says about an issue that is, like all sexual practices, a personal choice of the parties concerned, and nobody else's business. Religion's the same, a personal choice.
Ezekiel 16:49
Or did God redact that?
@creativerealms
Not that he was successfully doing that in the first place.
Also Adam? I find it hillarious that you used that quote specifically from the bible, because you are certainly swindling and slandering and therefore you won't be able to inherit the kingdom of god, just like me because of my homosexuality. Sucks to be you then.
Or just go with "It's ok as long as I do it to make the evil progressive christians, who refuse to accept my literal interpretation of the bible, look bad". I think there was something in the Bible about hypocrisy as well...
Well, it appears that most of the leaders of megachurches and those who preach regularly on television while begging for contributions to help them buy new planes fit the "thieves," "greedy" and "swindlers" category. Many of them have also been revealed to be "sexually immoral," "adulterers" or "men who practice homosexuality." I guess none of them will be going to heaven.
Nor people who cut their hair and beard, nor people who grow the wrong crop in the wrong field, nor people who wears clothes of mixed fabrics, nor people who work on the Sabbath, nor unruly children, nor men who refuse to marry their dead brother's widow and give their dead brother a son.
It says "men who sleep with a man as with a woman". Gays do not sleep with men as with a woman, but as with a man. The word "homosexuality" was probably not invented until 1869. Both the Romans and the Greeks would have hated that word, as it's a mixture of Latin and Greek.
Actually the version in the Queen, sorry King James Version says: "abusers of themselves with mankind".
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+6&version=KJV Something tells me that a few straight women would have to admit to being that.
Of course we all know what Adam Ford, and all the fundies typically will do: ignore the greedy, the drunks, the revilers and especially the swindlers. Then go on a big poofter bashing spree.
The first panel is fun.
It basically lists a bunch of things that have such broad reaching implications that basically no one will be able to inherit the kingdom of god.
Also, now that I think about it, doesn't inheritance require the owner to die? Is god going to die, or is he already dead and the whole estate is being held up by lawyers?

"Wasn't Corinthians one of Paul's letters? Last time I checked, Paul wasn't Christ."
I've got a Catholic friend I often discuss religion with. He was quite amused (and admitted I had a point) when I kept referring to his fellow believers as "Paulians".
Expect Paul never said "Men who practice homosexuality". He didn't speak English, and the word he used was "Arsenokoities". The word was translated as homosexuals in the 1940's and later into "Men Who Practice Homosexuality".
As far as the 2000 year understanding of the word goes, it has also been understood as pimps, whore mongers, masturbation, and child abusers. You mean to say that out of all those different understandings of that word, they suddenly got it right in the 1940's ?
David & Jonathan . How there isn't word one of condemnation of such in that part of your Bible (PROTIP: the authoriser of your KJV was as gay as they come ). Nor of the serial polygamist Solomon; 700 wives, 300 concubines.
So considering how the point: the 'punchline' of your so-called 'comic' has blown up in your own face - and more than 2000 years prior to the early 21st Century - then in a way it has worked: people are laughing at your... unique brand of visual 'humour'.
At you, and not with you, as per all other purveyors of observational humour: either stand-up comedians or cartoonists.
Confused?
