Sodomy (AKA buttsecks) was illegal until the 1960's in all of the U.S. slowly states repealed laws that made it illegal. In the late 1990's almost all states except for a few backassward ones had repealed such laws. The in 2003 the U.S. Supreme Court deemed all Sodomy Laws as unconstitutional.

OK, it's been a long time but when I went through sex ed. in grade school it was pretty much cut and dried without going into specific sexual behaviors, norms or desires. Anal sex is perfectly legal and, if done correctly, perfectly safe and enjoyable. And for the record, sexual health includes mental health. Teaching kids to feel bad about even having sexual thoughts just leads to serious guilt issues later in life even if they're of age, in a long-term relationshiop or married.
I personally couldn't care less about what consenting adults do with their sexual lives. Consenting preteens and teens, however, should always, ALWAYS use protection and know how to use protection. Well, unless they really do feel like they're ready for a family; then that's entirely their issue to deal with.

In many areas of the U.S. (including the Armed Forces) any type of sexual activity other than Missionary position is technically illegal. However, it's not really possible to enforce.

Actually, it can't be enforced anywhere in the US since 2003; Lawrence v. Texas declared state "sodomy laws" a violation of the 14th Amendment.

You know when I was in sex ed, no perverse acts were discussed at all. In fact, hardly any sexual acts were discussed at all. It's not like we were given flashcards with sex acts and were required to say "That's missionary. That's doggie style. That's a blow job."
Also, anal penetration is not illegal. It could be abusive if the other person didn't want it but if it's consensual -- then no.

THEY DO. You don't know anything about the current public education system, and haven't for a long time. When I was in 4th and 5th grade (now grown) we learned exactly the "anatomy and physiology of normal reproduction" and that condoms and abstinance prevented pregnancy. Maybe homosexuality is mentioned now, but when I was in class the act of sex itself was never discussed. Just what boys and girls have and how it (normally) works.

Who gets to decide what is perverse and what is not? I'm much more enraged about the ritual mutilating of the female genitalia which is much too common in some parts of our world. THAT is something I find really, really perverse. If people choose to have anal sex in the privacy of their homes, it's none of my business. When I was little my mother told me not to ever get into a car with a stranger because "some of them would 'hurt' kids", though she would never explain, nay, gave any hint, as to what this "hurting" business might be about.
