We wouldn´t mind if you gave up your internet access.
To more or less simulate your 17th century experience:
Get rid of everythiung powered by electricity, including your PC, telefone, central heating (you are allowed to heat only with the help of wood or coal), lamps (only petroleum powered lamps allowed), air conditioners, your washing machine, wristwatches and so on.
YOu also have to get rid of your car as well.
As food you are, of course, only allowed to eat things that are grwon within your country (as other types of food would have to be imported and you probably wouldn´t be able to afford it as a normal person in the 17th century).
Of course you also aren´t alloweed a car, radio or television (and aren´t allowed to go to the cinema) as well.
If your job includes any modern electric devices you have to quit, or change your working style so that no modern equipment is used (if you work in an office, for example, you should from now on calculate all numbers from hand or with an Abacus, not via excel sheets or a pocket calculator and, of course, you aren´t allowed to use photocopies. If there are documents you wish to have copied, you have to manually write them down on another sheet of paper. Telephone is a taboo as well and so are elevators. So if you want to get to another story within a building, you are only allowed to do so by using the stairs and every conversation has to take place face to face)
Oh and finally I might mention coffee, as coffee also had to be imported from arabia and therefore surely was expensive within the USA, you have to abstain from coffee and drink tea instead.
Still wanting to live in the 17th century?
